OMG, I just spit out my coffee when I read N2K's message!!!!! Wow, laughter is the best medicine!!! Thank you for the laughs.......... Okay, Lady. I know exactly what you are saying. I do think ol' Nicodemon was on your shoulder when you intentionally took that second breath. And the third. But then the Lady we all know emerged again, and kicked ol' Nicodemon to the ground and stomped on him. I understand your guilty feeling. I too have intentionally inhaled the second hand smoke too. AAAHHH, but then I start to cough. Even second had smoke is foreign to my lungs now. Now when I purposely inhale it, I love the feeling that I cannot even inhale it without coughing!! Wow..... I love that!!! Stay strong, and just realize that Nicodemon is still lingering around you. Trying sooooooooo hard to break you. Even with that last dirty trick!! :eg: My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 57 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,725 Amount Saved: $186.39 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 15 Mins: 3 Seconds: 38

Lady my sweet Lady - You didn't cheat! Sometimes the 2nd hand smoke makes us sick - sometimes we want to breathe it. You were just in a different place and time - get out of there! You are such an inspiration and encourager to us all - we love you! Cigarettes Not Smoked

Is this payback for my 'dream' thread last week? Man, I tell ya, it's seeing all of the adversity some of you deal with that reminds me how much of a whiney baby I've been with my quit. Some of the trials you all endure is quite amazing. I have been very fortunate that no one who lives with me and no one in my family, who I see regularly, smokes. Take care though, Lady, and take heart, you have this firmly in your palm. We all have sucked in some second hand smoke. If anything it's punishment for all the times we've inflicted second hand smoke on others. You have not stumbled. You have just reestablished your commitment to N.O.P.E. You've been through a lot, a whole lot, with your quit. I know I sometimes fear that somehow I may just trip and fall right mouth first on a lit cigarette. But that's not how it happens. We make the choice. You made the choice to not smoke. Your tears should be of joy. Life or death, live or die. There is only do, there is no try. Choice puts the free in freedom. No hurries, no worries. Keep on keepin' on - fish My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/21/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 130 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,924 Amount Saved: $650 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 21 Mins: 57 Seconds: 43

Lady, Thank you so much for your post. The timing couldn't have been better. Friday a group from work celebrated a friend's college graduation. We sat in the restaurant's patio area outside and downwind from a chain smoker. I really didn't think much of it though until this weekend. I really feel like I am going through withdrawals again! What a great point about staying away from second hand smoke! Glad that your recent test of faith was brief and that you walked away a non-smoker! Thanks for your post! Joonie

Lady, You are a non-smoker. You just had a little reality check on how bad nic is. I have to believe that I am and will stay a non-smoker, even though there is 2nd hand smoke in my house every day. I have tried and tried to convince my hubby that he needs to smoke outside. But he chooses to smoke where he wants. When I smoked I smoked in the house to. So every day I have to breath in 2nd hand smoke, that is what makes it so hard for me to stay a non smoker. But I will accomplish what I have set out to do. Just like you have accomplished what you set your mind to do. If we always had perfect thoughts we would not have SSC, we would not have each other. Be proud Lady you are a winner. Keep moving forward and dont look back. I think Barbara Streisand sang it best: People...People smoking people...are the Lucky-est people in the world... And now for a word from our sponsor: Lucky Strike!... (Oh, that'll get censored.) Hey, don't smoke. It's bad for you, okay? Unfortunately, we have absolutely no control over what other people do and there's nothing wrong w/ enjoying the smell of something. I happen to like the smell of gasoline; that doesn't I'm gonna make a cocktail out of it... Mc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/31/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 243 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,653 Amount Saved: $972 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 16 Mins: 39 Seconds: 41
