Brentw1 - Sorry to have a laugh at your expense. Once that air conditioner goes - it all goes...and goes...and goes... I live on an island off the coast of GA and it was hot hot hot today as well. 90 degrees this afternoon about 2. Lucky for me I rode my Vespa to work today to get the cool breeze this morning. Unlucky for me because right when I was getting off work today a huge thunder and lighting storm hit - at least I was cooled off riding home (I was sopping wet). Hope your car is feeling better - but I am proud of the fact that you seem to be taking it all in stride and NOT SMOKING!! Island Girl

Love, love, love your posts Brentw1!!! So great to see you here putting a big cheesy grin on all our faces! You have me in stitches with your MI reference as at this exact moment, Tom Cruise is sitting in a little lighted box about 4 feet away from me! He REALLY is every where isn't he? Please keep coming back to us, you are a sparkling part of this place. I'm having a bad day. I'm the mad englishman for those of you who don't know me........I'm slightly loopy and from the UK and stopping smoking was the hardest thing that I have ever done in my entire 48 years on this planet. Today's saga started some months ago when I noticed a squeak from the front of my car. Having checked that the rabbit and the hamster (who would call a hamster Roger! well my son did!), the diagnosis was made of a faulty air-conditioning compressor. No idea what it does but it cost 500 plus fitting. As I was still hot on sunny days..........I complained...........to be told that the fan was knackered as well. That blows air into something called the condenser and costs 300. As I was still hot on sunny days..........and the car was now squeakier that before..........I complained...........to be told that the new fan was knackered as well. At least that did not cost anything but I was without the car for a day. Then we went on the two week ski trip. It was fine going because it was cold. We did not notice that the air-con did not work........until the 800 mile drive home in bright sunlight in a mobile conservatory. We got hot again..........I complained.........and was told that perhaps some gas should have been put in the system. No idea what it does but apparently the compressor compresses it, the fan thing blows air at it and the condenser thingy...................I don't know ............ condensers it? Today a very nice man arrived and put gas in the system. Lovely cold air came out of the vents and the nice man went away. 20 minutes later I went to the bank on this nice sunny day. Guess what...............I got hot............very hot.........you see, this is the one day this year in England when the temperature is going to exceed 25 degrees and it is not raining (we call it summer). Funny noises came out of the car from under the bonnet (or hood for you over the pond dwellers). Apparently the new compressor has self-destructed as part of the publicity for Mission Impossible 3. So I am back to the start-point of this ramble. About 148 days ago this saga would have been accompanied by the consumption of approximately 124 cigars. Would I have felt any better..........no. Did the saga occur because

Always good to see our friend the Mad Englishman. It could be worse Brent. I live in Georgia. We have winter (warm weather), Spring and fall (both hot), and Summers (Very HOT) where you can fry an egg on the sidewalk. At least we don't smoke! Congrats on 148 days. Keep popping in. You are always a good read. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 308 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,170 Amount Saved: $1078 Life Gained: Days: 27 Hrs: 4 Mins: 30 Seconds: 44
