Hello brent, I have been very preoccupied lately with painters crawling all over the house, and only saw your soup recepie today. Definitely my type of food. In spite of 36degree temperatures, I hiked to the shops bought the ingredients and 'bunged' them into a pan, then 'trashed' them [are you sure you're not Australian] and enjoyed the result. Not quite Australian summer food, but have put the recipe away for winter. Think you might be confusing jelly and jam. Jelly is Jello to our ststeside buddies, jam is jam (like preserves)...so...no, we don't eat jello (jelly) on bread do we? (Wobbly not - well not on purpose anyway!!) Oakey Dokey Folks....serves me right for using local english slang words! You are quite right folks "bung" does indeed mean "place" or "throw" in pan. The tinned tomatoes can be whole or pre-chopped as we are going to blend everything to a smooth and creamy consistancy (i.e. Thrash in blender). For a dinner party or special occasion when we are not all the size of an advertising blimp.......add a couple of knobs of butter and half a pint of cream before serving. I also save a few coriander leaves to garnish the top with. Finally......its nice served with wholemeal cobs, baps or butties! ;p Brent My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/8/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 57 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 403 Amount Saved: 285 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 14 Mins: 6 Seconds: 55

I tin tomatoes 2 tins water 2 chicken stock cubes 1 parsip 2 medium leeks 4 carrots 1 stick celery 2 medium potatoes Handful of fresh coriander salt and fresh ground pepper to taste Chop up, bung in pan and bring to boil, simmer for 45 mins and thrash with blender. Dead simple, dead tasty, dead good for you and about 50 cals a cupful. Tastes even better after a day but never lasts that long in our house! mad english cook brent My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/8/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 55 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 389 Amount Saved: 275 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 6 Mins: 43 Seconds: 44

I don't think I understand putting soup in a blender :confuse: But everything else looks de-lish! :) --- This doesn't go with soup but..... I'll pass along a really easy and very healthy side dish 1 Bundle of fresh asparagus spears from the market Cut off about an inch or two of the stems, rinse in cold water, salt only and grill for about 6-10 mins. Serve hot. Brent, am I correct in guessing bung means throw or toss. So "bung in pan" means "put into pan"? Southern born and raised, too. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 255 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,118 Amount Saved: $969 Life Gained: Days: 47 Hrs: 16 Mins: 55 Seconds: 1
