Her Battle is Over!!!

I'm so sorry. Bless you for being with her, and bless her little ones. For those that have never had the personal experience to be with someone dying of cancer during their last days/hours, it's not like the movies. If it helps to motivate anyone to not smoke, just remember that someone you love will have to eventually watch you die from one of the many diseases that smoking can cause. Dear Vickie, I am so sorry for your loss. And my heart goes out to her little babies. It's just gut wrenching to know that two more kids are now motherless because of these horrible sticks. It is a reminder that the danger of cigarettes is so very real, and that the diseases related to cigarettes don't discriminate when it comes to age. Now, not only will I think of my dad when I get even the slightest urge to light up, I will also think of your dear friend and her two children. Vicki, I'll be thinking of you. Please, let us know if the kids are in need of anything. It just is so freaking sad. That is so sad, I will keep her family in my prayers as well as you. I have a 2 year old little girl and to think of her watching ME go through that scares me so bad. I had many reasons to stop, Now I have another. Thank you for sharing. M.Robinson

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Just got home a bit ago after being with my dear friend who just passed away at 6:00 am from lung cancer. I think I've talked of her before on here and now just because I'm so wired up, I want to share with you what a night it has been. I was called to come over last night about 11 pm and gladly went to be with her, her two young children and their grandmother. She had asked for me earlier in the day. Sharon was 39 yrs. old with two children. One was 14 and one 8. She was concious until about 3 am this morning and was able to tell her children how much she loved them. She spoke briefly to me and asked that I keep a loving eye on her babies as I promised I would. She looked at me and said how proud she was that I had quit smoking and wished she had done the same. I had no words for her on that one as I was just too lost to speak. I've often wondered why some smokers live long lives while others seem to go very young and you know, there is no answer that I have to that question. I'll miss Sharon. I'll miss her laughter and her wonderful outlook on life. I won't miss the terrible pain my friend had been in for the last 4 months. She did go very quickly, but it was a horrible thing to see. Please don't let yourself go there also. Lady I read your post about your father and my heart goes out to you. I lost my father when he was 52 from heart disease. He was a 3 pack a day smoker. I"m tired now and need to try and sleep as I'll be busy later today. God Bless all of you here and please keep your quit. vicki just 1 puff away from 2 packs a day My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 103 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,135 Amount Saved: $721 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 1 Mins: 28 Seconds: 0
