You know, for me its not the oral fixation or the keeping yourself busy, its knowing that I truly am a addict. I could care less about holding a smoke, I have always hated that. Something to keep me busy, nope, I care less, I am always busy. I am no different that a crack, cocaine, heroine or other chemical drug. I am a junkie. But no more. I cant wait to kick this stupid habit. We should all be ashamed of what we have done. We stink, hack and cough, and put our addiction in front of others. Let the shackles of this addiction fall off forever. I will no longer be a prisoner of this addiction. We all will survive and be stronger. Can a non smoker say that. They cant even fathom how hard this is. We are stronger than them. Always remember how strong we are. Congratulations to all for one more day of being smoke free. I like your confidence, but I agree that you must guard against getting too hight up on the soap box at this point. Keep your attitude and you will remain quit. One thing I have learned during my quit is that it is important to forgive....myself for all the stupid things I have done in the past. Smoking of course was one of them, but during this journey, I have been reminded of other stupid things I have done that in the past may have been a trigger for me to smoke...remembering that is. So don't get too smug yet. I am proud of you however and hope you are proud of yourself. Remember It's a choice! I do believe you could be a stumping preacher. Your writing about casting aside that monster is strong indeed. Careful here though...cocky is dangerous at this stage. If you are as strong as you indicate, learn learn learn learn about the dangers of smoking. Knowledge is Power. I am with you till you have your permanent quit in hand. That is probably 6 months when you can see it over the horizon. Prior to that...the monster lurks and wants to steal you back. Remember, that monkey is jumping all the time. You just got to keep him jumping on the jerk's back. I welcome you here and will watch your progress with much anticipation.
