World Cup Fever - Hmmmm - This is a new one for me but I guess now that Australia has (finally) made it in I'll have to become a little more enthusiastic. At least soccer rules are easier to work out than rugby rules! :) It is so true zyban - fewer and fewer people smoke these days. Me & my hubby stopped smoking at the same time & one of our first agonisers to each other is what are we going to do when smoking friends visit? Do we keep the old ashtrays or what? etc etc. Then we tallied up who out of our group still smokes and it was one person!!! I couldn't believe it! And that realisation sure stopped us agonising. lol Non-smokers are the cool crowd. Good luck to all the soccer heads chickstarr ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 626 Amount Saved: $250 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 23 Mins: 7 Seconds: 44

Hi Brent. Here in Canada its hockey hockey hockey. The Stanley Cup play offs are on with a Canadian team in the finals - BUt, we dont allow smoking in bars anymore - which is perfect if you feel like going out and watching the game with some friends. All public places here are now smoke free - sure makes the quit easier! Here's to our teams! Hi Brentw1, I can see why you're concened about the smoke. However, remember that the smoke itself cannot get you started on nicotine addiction, though you will end up smelling of it. When I go into pubs, bars these days, I recognise it for what it is - an unpleasant smell, but tolerate it. If anything, it makes it less likely that I will smoke. If you're that worried, do you have any friends with satellite or digital TV as an alternative venue? Whatever you do, you have a really determined attitude there which is reflected in your stats! :) Oink, The World Cup never ends in agony for me. My team (Wales) haven't qualified since 1958! :( And Zyban, Summer was last weekend by the way! ;p Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 113 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,394 Amount Saved: 847.5 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 20 Mins: 41 Seconds: 55

World Cup - absolutely love it! even though it normally ends up in agony. I don't usually watch it down the pub but might do this time around, don't feel in any danger of smoking though and the smell of second hand smoke will only strengthen my resolve. Well England won their opening match and I went to the pub to watch the game with my brother and one of my sons, neither of who smoke. But on the table next to us were 2 chain smokers, the woman must have smoked about 10 cigs during the game - I was astounded. Then someone from the other side of us asked if she could have our ashtray as we weren't using it so then smokers on both sides :8o: But I must admit I neither wanted a cig nor craved a cig, I did not resent the smokers but just felt glad that I was nic and smoke free!!
