Hey everyone.  I'm new to this whole discussion group thing.  I've been dealing with anxiety and depression for man years now and find writing to be a huge outlet for me.  Hopefully this poem can help you to not feel alone in what you are going through.

A tonic for all your chronics
Is a doctors due reply,
But what at last can ease the pain ...
Of a souls request to die.

For words rush in, more than a few,
To strike a troubled mind,
That’s lost in thoughts, perplexing
No answer to reply.

No control, the wax and wane
Of emotional tidal waves,
No vest or buoy in this world
Around these thoughts can save.

For time can rush, and slow just as fast
To a pace much like rewind,
Not a compass or its dial,
To a peace, my thoughts can’t find.
