Write it down

Ashley your not annoying at all, by the way thanks for the reminder. Sometimes I fail to look for and see the small changes.
Avoiding everything is something that I need to me mindful of too and not letting myself get to comfortable with it since I have been kind of hiding out at home for about a week now. Shutting off my cell phone and the answering machine for months at a time is something I have been know to do in the past..Shutting the world out is easy for me, letting it in is the hard part..

This process of writing it out does make a person think and at times reveals things that would never be thought of if this writing was left out of the equation. The writing has really helped..This point form of writing that you mentioned is something I am interested in and I am going to give it a try..

This morning I made some dreaded phone calls and they actually went very well and I got the information that I needed..Now all I have to do is follow through with the appointment I scheduled for later this month and than maybe some more of my questions will be answered. Then maybe I can make a informed decision and come to some kind of resolution with some issues I am having..There are so many steps in this process and it takes so long that it does get discouraging at times..and I do get tired of it all..

Today I am thinking about taking a little mind break and getting out to do some walking at the zoo, if not today than sometime this week..This way I can break the cycle of shutting myself off and hunkering downing in the house. I don't think this will be avoidance because I did work on  the things I was avoiding this morning so I think I should not feel guilty for getting out and doing a little positive avoidance/distraction today or a least sometime this week..Sometimes I just have to give my mind a break..

Any change, even a small one is cause to celebrate! I'm not trying to be annoying...it's really true. Any small change means you are moving in the right direction. Good work sticking with it. Sometimes it can feel 'easier' to avoid everything, having the courage to keep trying is so important and actually a sign of resilience.

Things are still a bit of a jumble... hard for me to answer all of those questions but it did get me thinking and noticing a pattern, especially with my eating and sleeping.  Both are totally off and have been since the start of this last bout of deepening depression.  I do forget that all things are related.  I have to say that in working through the questions on this and other threads this weekend my mood did improve.  Not hip-hip-hooray great... but more hopeful and calmer.  I feel less out of control, more focused...

Are thoughts lurking in the back of your head?  Is there something troubling you? Write it down.  We spoke about journaling and writing down your thoughts and emotions, yet occasionally, there just isn’t the time, so point form!

Have your fun or inspiring pad and pen near by!

Did you come to a realization?
Did your mood change?
Do you see a pattern?
How is your mood today?
What are you eating?
Are you angry?
Are you happy?
Did you reach a goal?

That’s right it is all relative!

Take the weekend and sort it out, knowing your triggers, emotions, situations, and food consumptions can move you forward and help better assess your situation.
You can get started here if you like...
