Hi Kat and welcome,

You've come to the right place. As is been pointed out, this program works (as long as we do the homework!), I can testify that!!

Hope it works for you as well.

Hello Katt,

Welcome to our online support community. The program was designed by doctors and can really help you progress though this. Take at look at each step of the program, it is work..but it is affective!

CBT is only effective when you do the homework. Worksheets help you track your homework exercises and CBT is a lot of work.

As you move through the Depression Program the worksheets will change as you change. Make sure you give yourself time to do the homework properly - you know your depression best so it's really up to you to decide how often you do your homework. Take your time when you do your homework, there is no rush!

Each session in the Depression Program is based on previous sessions, and if you track your mood with your Mood Tracker (and keep notes in the spaces provided) you'll see much improvement over the coming weeks.

At the beginning of each session we give you a Weekly Review, which allows you to see how far you've progressed. We save your Weekly Review results in your Session Diary, so you will see a collection of results, which are all based on what you write in your worksheets.

CBT is a lot of work but the good news is that if you follow the program it will all come together for you as you start to feel better.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions or concerns.

Katt, Welcome!  I think this program has helped me tremendously.  I think posting often in the various areas of the forums is helpful.  I found the sessions to be most helpful in working on my mood and depression.  I worked the sessions one by one at my own pace (we have a tendency to want to be fixed now) as I found myself going too fast to get the maximum benefit.  I've been hanging out and there are lots of extra sessions to help as well.
I am sorry you've had to self-medicate with marijuana.  I think that is indicative of someone who hasn't received the right medications but also indicative of a person with addiction.
You sound very frustrated with the resources you've had available to you.  I will give you my personal sales pitch on this approach (The Depression Center) to depression.  It is scientifically proven to be the most successful approach in the treatment of depression but is also found to be very effective with addiction.  The moderators would have to assist you in how to apply to your addiction issues but there are also sister sites on addiction issues such as alcohol and nicotine.
I know the crying everyday thing is very frustrating.  I still have my moments when those tears come out of nowhere and seemingly for nothing.  However, they become more and more infrequent (weeks at a time without now - sometimes longer).  I credit this program, meditation, my spirituality, and my medications (prescribed) as well as my willingness to do what it takes even when I didn't want to.  I also exercise which helps.
Anyway, I got off on a tangent as sometimes I do.  I am glad you are here.  Look around, post often, work the sessions.
I hope you find it helpful and look forward to reading more posts from you!!!!!

Hi I am trying this online suport system to make a difference in my moods and attitude. I have been clinically depressed for over 4 years now and just last year had 5 months off work because of severe anxiety and major depression. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I am on antidepressants and antianxiety pills but i also use weed to keep me calm. It has become an addiction now, just one more thing to deal with! I hope to use this program to improve my life as I have tried everything, theapists, phyciatrists and an addiction counsellor, but Im still so sad i cry daily.
I wish everyone a better day ahead!
