I currently volunteer for an animal rescue group (something I have started recently) and this weekend I am going to go to garages sales and see if I can get us some deals on much needed items.
My husband finds it really amusing to come with me as when I normally go (I used to love to get my books at them) I will never dicker on prices. I figure if I am paying $1 for a paperback that normally would cost me $10 I am getting a deal, why would I ask them to lower it to .50 cents? BUT when I go looking for the animal rescue, I am asking everyone if I can have a deal on items or if I can have them for free as they are for the animal rescue.
He thinks it is funny (I guess not in a ha-ha way) that I am able to ask for others what I can not ask for myself, not reading to much into it, I guess that is part of why I am here.
One of the topics in the depression program under Goals and Activities is Pleasant Activities. I haven't baked for far too long. This weekend, I will make bagels.
