Hi, Ive been on Celexa and other SSRI's. I learned not to "expect" anything. Just be patient and try to do your part.
This stuff wont make you feel great, it will help you feel better, so you can start doing the things you need to beat this. I used to think the meds would fix me and true they do help, a lot in some cases. I also learned I had to figure out how to help myself.
The things you learn through this program, you Dr. and online. Diet-Excercise-Vitamins-CBT.
As you may know, the meds are so trial and error, thats why I have done a lot of research on myself. Since I know me the best, I should be the expert of what I know. If that makes sense. See no one or thing can "cure" depression, except ourselves.
I've been taking Celexa for a month (started May 18th). I understand that it can take longer than that to really work, but I'd like some advice on things to look for. For example, a couple of days ago, for a few hours, I actually felt happy. And for a few moments, practically giddy with joy over nothing at all. Then back to the blues.
Does that sound right? I was expecting a sort of gradual improvement, not a sudden peak like that.
