Diva's Independance Day!

Good !!! Good!!!  Sing your heat out and be happy.  I used to love to sing when I was a kid with my dad and I still break out in song quite often.    Thinking of you singing makes me feel good.   You go for it girl.

I love to sing. I do not know if I am any good at it, but I love it. When I was a child and other kids played school or house, I played singer. I was braver about it too as a child! They would say: But there is no singer when playing house! and I would say: Why not?!

I love singing, it is organic. It is musical breathing. It is what enables me to communicate when I have no words, it is what enables me to breathe when I have no air. I had given up singing and I have been choking! But no more!!! From now on I will raise my voice and breathe! Some might like it some might not, but like it or not, this is my voice, this is me breathing!

Hiya Samantha,

Thanks for the reply!

Hiya Strength,

You are right need is so much better then should. As Albert Ellis used to say: "Shouldhood is ****hood!" Lol!

I am glad if you have been inspired to pursue your passions! You are right, life is short and we need to do the things we love! That is one of the lessons I am learning from this particular bout with depression. I think it is great that you will get back into old hobbies and pass-times! May I ask what those are if it isn't too nosey on my part?

When I started my Independence movement, when I wrote Diva's Independence Day, when I started writing my Declaration of Independance, I did not think I was being inspiring at all lol. I was just trying to free myself, express myself, unshackle myself! But I am pleased if it has inpired others, very pleased indeed!

That penguin is pretty cute actually Diva!

And you know what, you really have inspired me with this amazing attitude of yours. We all NEED (I was going to write should but it's not should, it's need) to pursue our passions, we must do the things we love to do in this short life. I think I will get back into some of my old hobbies and past-times...

Ya, you know what I will. Thanks Diva!

Hi Diva,

It is so great to hear this positive attitude. Those projects you are taking on have me inspired as well! Keep making these discoveries and diving into new adventures! And update us along the way, we love to hear about it!

Hello Lucioana!

Thank you, I am glad you like my penguin!

I AM taking on new projects and new projects that inspire me! I also want to write a fantasy fiction book!

I am slowly discovering who I am and what I want. Mostly I am slowly working on giving myself the right to go for what I want and free myself of other people's expectations of me! I have declared my Independance Day! I deserve to be happy. I have people who support me and as such I have the means to change my life around and be more myself and go for things I want! I am slowly giving myself the right to be me, and be happy!

Diva, thank you for taking the time to share a little bit about with us.

I'm glad to see that you are taking on all these new projects for yourself, drawing (which I must say from the little cute picture, you are quite amazing at!), Spanish, piano and singing! You are doing great, keep on moving forward, and of course don't forget to keep us updated on how these endeavors are going.

Hiya Goofy!

IT IS SO NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU TOO!!! (that wasn't a shout, that was a happy bouncy girly squeal :P)

Thank you for the encouragement on the drawing. I find myself really enjoying expressing myself that way. It is difficult but fun. And everytime I manage to do anything that somewhat ressembles what it looked like in my mind I am really pleased. And even when it is a bad drawing and looks nothing like I wanted I am glad I got to draw for a few hours!

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and my blog excerpts! I appreciate your presence in my life and your support so much! And /blush for all the compliments. Thank you!

And yes, I am finally giving myself the right to explore my inner desires and to figure out who I am and who I want to be, and what I want!

I will try and keep you all posted on my progress with my Independance Project!

And wow, 20 days already! Thanks for celebrating with me!!!

Diva, first of all I love the pic you drew.  I am impressed.  I AM ALSO SO GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU!  ( I know I screamed, but I am).  And for it to be so posiitive and upbeat and sharing things we(I) never knew about you.  You sound like a fantastically interesting person.  I'm so glad that you are exploring all your inner desires and things you like and are being you!  What a wonderful person you are!
Please keep us posted - you know the good things keep us going, too.  November 10th - Let's see we'll celebrate a month of Independence Day in 10 days and today we'll celebrate 20 days!
Glad to hear you are doing so well and again glad to hear from you!!!!

Last thing from my blog:

I love music! But I love all sorts of music. I like Gothic and Orchestral Metal (I discovered that recently lol). I love Opera. I love Jazz. I love Reggae! I love Blues and World beat. I love Cumbias and Rumbas and Sambas! I love crossover styles... etc.
Leonard Cohen is a Superstar! And Janis Joplin is the Queen of Rock! Elle Fitzgerald Rules Jazz! Bob Marley is Awesome! Sting, well Sting will always rock my world!
I love The Human Voice. I can fall in love with a voice! It can be a passionate love affair or a slow rising romance! I love music that gives me chills and makes me cry or makes me feel hot and shivery all at once! Music makes me feel alive!
But I also like music that some of the people in my surroundings would not like. I used to hide that. I used to hide what I thought others would laugh at, like a dirty little musical secret! But you know what? Life is TOO SHORT to deny what makes you happy!!! Life is TOO short for others not to really know you! And so I say this with pride: I HIDE NO LONGER!!!
I love Barry Manilow. I fall asleep listening to Mandy! He makes me happy. I also like Tom Jones (What's up Pussycat!?). I Like Garth Brooks and Shania Twain. I love the Soundtrack to Doctor who, some of it makes me cry. Despite all her drama, I still love Whitney Houston. Her early stuff is awesome! I love Disney music! Bare Necessities and Under the Sea are among my favourite songs! I think the song Roxanne is awesome! Finally one of my greatest wishes would be to sing a duet with some of my idols! And that's me! Like it or not, that is what I like! Take it or leave it!
