Hey Sarah,
Yup, one day at a time is what I am trying to do. I got lots of laundry done and dishes and hoursework. I feel like my house is cleaner and still I do not feel like I deserve the time I have. But I am working on it.
I am trying to take one day at a time and do my best everyday. I am also trying to be grateful for what I have.
Yesterday was a good day! I lunched with mom and did the groceries! I also bought toys for the kitties. The little one needed some distractions! And heloved his new toyes! Lol the big ones did too. My cats bring me lots of joy. and the new addition fits in better and better. On top of it he is so cuddly. He is sitting on the back of my chair as we speak! He is a cutey! Then again all of my cats are cuties!
Anyway, not much more to saay then that! You all have a nice day!

Diva,

Taking some muh needed time for yourself is always helpful! And not to worry, everyone deserves a break! It is often common for people to feel like they don't deserve to take time for yourself. However in hindsight, this time is very beneficial and can usually contribute to a more productive day!

Keep up with your attitude of taking things one day at a time. Although things may be stressful once school starts, keeping up with your determination and motivation will be key to your success!

Stay close to the boards and let us know if there is anything we can do to!

Be well.

Hey Tofeliz and Ashley!

Thanks for the tips and encouragement and support! I like the schedule and rewards idea too!
I also agree tht going for a walk and being around people helps!
As for staying home, I kinda like it. I really needed time to myself! I was so ragged and tired. I do feel guilt and shame though about it. Not because I don<t enjoy it. I do enjoy having time to myself (although I agree that scheduling my time better is a good idea). I guess I feel guilty and ashamed because I feel like I don<T deserve  it. I feel like I don't deserve a break. So if I don't do enough during my day to earn said break I get very hard on myself. Make any sense? Anyway, this won't be an issue for long as I go back to school to finish my doctorate's and that will be more than a fullk-time occupation! Whew I am tired just thinking about it. and scared out of my mind! Anyway, one day at a time! Thanks again both of you for the support!

I like the schedule and rewards idea.

I always feel the worst when I am not working.  So I can relate......if you are home all the time it would be tough.

Make time for outside friends too!

Even going out for a walk around ppl helps

I sometimes go to the mall and just walk around when I feel sad.  Just seeing ppl for some reason helps

Everyone gets overwhelmed this is normal.  I know that you do not work now and I know it can be really tough not to have the schedule of working.  A lot of people do not realize that staying home isn't one long vacation, it can be hard to stay motivated and can even be depressing.  It is a lot of work to keep yourself motivated and give yourself purpose.  With that, many people feel a lot of guilt and shame for staying home.  They think, I should be so happy, many people would love to stay home, many people could accomplish a lot more than me.  This added pressure and guilt makes it even harder to get motivated.  Many people who stay home can experience depressive symptoms.  That is why it is important to put yourself on a schedule of some kind.  It does not have to be a fixed schedule but some routine is good.

What I suggest is every Sunday.  Lucky today is Sunday!  Write down everything you would like to accomplish for that week.  Prioritze them by putting A beside the task for top priority, B for medium and C for less priority.  You can also rate them for how much work you think they will take.  You may need to break the task into sections depending on how large of a task it is.  Then plunk these items into a calendar.  Try to start your day with a few smaller tasks then jump into the large ones. End your day with a few smaller ones.  You should try to aim to get all the top priority tasks complete during the week but if you do not, do not feel guilty, simply move them to the next week.

Now the fun part!  Also in your calendar schedule in rewards.  If you complete a task or number of tasks (it is up to you). Plan in a reward, going for a walk, reading a book, playing a game, having a snack etc.  These rewards are deserved and they are essential. Do not feel guilty because it is a very important part of your schedule.  Plan bigger rewards for bigger tasks.

I suggest to not try to take on too much at once.  Start small and gradually schedule in more.  Try not to overwhelm yourself.  Let us know if you try it and how it works for you.

Hey Ashley, thanks for replying to me as always :)
I do have a lot on my plate. and I do feel ashamed and guilty. I feel like I should be doing better, like I am bad for being so overwhelemed and overloaded!
And the heat does not help itmakes me feel so cranky! And on top of it I am hormonal which drives me crazy /sigh.
As for what I can do to organize myself. Hmm, I guess I could schedule things in an agenda. That seems to help. Not sure what else I could do. Got any tips to offer? I could use them lol.
As for what I can do to make things better for myself. I can I can do what I can when I can and let myself take a break without guilt when I need one. Except, I don't do breaks without guilt... Got any tips there for me too?

Hi Diva,

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now.  You seem frustrated and ashamed.  But it also sounds like you have a lot of great things to be happy for!

What are a few things you can do to organize yourself?
What can you do to make the situation better for yourself?

Thanks Ashley he is!

There is a heat wave and it is driving me bonkers. I like summer and I like heat to some degree. I love nice sunny days. but hot humid icky days! Beurk. I feel hot and sticky and very very cranky!
Right now I am dealing with figuring out that I am in fact a victim of childhood abuse. I am also dealing with heat. Dealing with a messy house. dealing with a budding shopping addiction. Dealing with a relapse in food problems... My ODC tendencies are getting worse. I am also helping a friend who is having marital problems and he is in crisis. I just spent 3 hours chatting with him.I am dealing with going back to school soon...dealing with financial problems (got a budding shopping addiction remember? :P) ... dealing with this heat! and with my eczema and my weight....Argh, I feel like my head will explode!
And yet, on the up side, overall I am doing reletivelay ok. And my Panic and GAD are under control. Woohoo! I have a new kitten and my two other cats are doing well. I have a husband and mother who love me and support me. I have a good shrink. I have a messy but lovely home.
So there it is. That is where I am at.
I am tired and want to sleep but my head is like that song: You spin me right round baby right round.... I just can<t make my brain stop... And I am feeling so cranky.
Anyway, enough ranting for now! Later folks!
