Wow this was awesome to read! I am so happy for you! Sounds like a super great success! And the fact that your husband noticed is extremely nice too :) I love how you call him your Chouette! But I digress! I just wanted to say thank you for sharing with us :) It is great to read!
I have not seen a post from you in some time... how is the family? (the distance) how is your health (and the efforts at stopping the smoking)? how is your son and sister?
Patrick, the mood stabilizers helps me stay in a more normal energy range so stress is not a problem. I can take the stimulus from the outside and manage it. I can prioritize tasks. I am not stuck in some anxiety loops .
And I am a bit worried ... the it is too good to be true! kind of worry. I have been on Topiramate for 3 weeks (1 week 25mg, 1 week 50mg and now 5 days at 75mg) not the usual months it takes for psychiatric drugs to work! But this is not a psy drug it is a migraine and epilepsy med. I have read quite a bit and the most useful info came from crazy meds on the net. and there it was as an anti seizure med... so am I hypomanic and close to springing over the edge to bipolarland or am I hitting normal with the med's help?
I'm to see the therapist aug 20th and the psychiatrist in sept... but you know I am not worried! I had a pillow talk with my husband last night! and he noticed i had fun! he noticed I looked better than I have for the past few years! HE NOTICED. He told me about me it. It was so nice. my chouette with two weeks of beard and two days without soap on vacation, tired and sore from sleeping on the floor and running to the outhouse with kids in the middle of the night - noticed I was better.
Really glad that you had a good time, Wildcat. Who cares whether it's the new meds or not; it's just a space in time where you felt good and enjoyed being with your family and were not being assailed by life's vagaries each and every day... I wish life was like that 24-7-12!!
Try to keep that good feeling in your mind when you feel stressed....
It's so great to hear that you had a good time. Now that you know you can have fun doing these activities, take more time to enjoy yourself over the summer.
Meds can absolutely make you feel better. It's important to find what's works best for you.
I had fun! I had fun! I can't believe it... I can't remember the last time Feeling this true enjoyment and peace...
I HAD FUN!
I miscarried in 2000 had my daughter in 2002 and crashed in 2005. I do not really remember having fun and being truely happy! These past four days we went camping (the air matresses were defective so we slept on the floor and lots of picnic with kids that run all over means means eatinging on the run and with a few contaminants "camping : sleeping on the floor eating dirt" ). I am a bit afraid of heights and closed/tight spaces I WENT TO A WATER PARK and had fun!!! I did not do the free fall slides but most of the others with the kids and husband!
I cannot believe I am finding my life because of a mood stabliser... is it just the "placebo-effect" or meds can really do this???
