Figuring out what I like!

16 years ago 0 185 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
When I will end my studies and have a regular home and a regular schedule I want to take an dog trainer course to get the diploma. When I can I help fiends train their dogs but I would like to do it as a hobby but in a more official way. I lived with dogs since I was 3 years old.
another thing that I like very much is roller blading. The only problem is that I don't like going alone... I need at least one roller buddy. Maybe because I'm not feeling very confident to go out beeing overweight....

Maggie,   It's great to hear that you were able to find a fitting activity that makes you feel good. Appreciation is always welcomed and can make a person feel great. Be sure to take time for yourself in the mix of everything, this may also help lift your spirits because you come first, if you're not happy and healthy it's impossible to help others.

Hi everyone, what a great subject...a hard one at times, but an interesting one.  I think we get caught up in everyone's activities and their schedules, we forget what we like to do, atleast I do.  My kids' schedules are crazy, even though I'm a stay at home mom, I'm not doing what I like to do, I'm doing what needs to be done, etc.  My husband's schedules is busy, but I don't go near that, he's a big boy, he can hold his own.  But someone asked me what I liked doing, I couldn't give them an answer, I didn't know.  I decided to volunteer at this agency, what a difference.  Some place that appreciates you, what you do, when you come in, people who say thanks for your help.  Talk about a lift, especially a mental lift.

I'm in a bit of a funk now, and I know exactly where it's stemming from, feeling very unappreciated, etc.  But when I go to my volunteer place, it turns my "ill feelings" around and there I feel I'm important and appreciated.  Volunteer work is incredible and it's appreciated. I just need to work through this "funk" and move on.

I hope everyone has a good day, atleast the sun is out and shining.

that is great,  just remember that if you are fragile a shelter is a gloomy place.
You have to remember you are there to be the sunshine to the animals.

My sister loved it at Greyhound rescue, because it was open and she brought the sweet gentle Grey hounds for walks.

Yeah, we played with a plastic one and I totally agree with you.  I am going to buy a fabric one.  I had another thought-I think I would really like volunteering at an animal shelter.  I love animals.

I bought a fabric frisbie because I am afraid of getting hurt with the plactic ones

You're right, Wildcat!  The other day I went to the park with friends and threw a frisbee around.  I haven't done that since I was a kid!  It was fun!

hey if they were fun activities when you were a kid they should still be fun and easy to accomplish.

as a kid I used to love bouncing a super ball in the middle of our streer and then go running after it.
only now I have kids to go fetch the balls in the park.  I love the sound of the rubber compressing. I love to see the ball bounce ever lower as it loses its kenetic energy.  I love to see where it will end up due to the bumps in the pavement.

as a kid what did you do?
jump rope, play elastic, bounce balls, pick up sticks, throw jacks, dress dolls, colour books,

last week I bought a pack of twelve colouring pencils and a book at the dollar store.  It is so much fun to do!  And i share the pages with my 5 yr old daughter who is learning about activities for a lifetime (if I am colouring I am not munching, and the final picture is my own piece of art).

Kitt,

Why not experiment!  Try a few things like walking, relaxing, family fun day

See what works and what doesn't.  Choose the ones that really have a positive effect and stick with those.  Make sure you let us know what you are doing, we would love to hear your pleasant activities!
