Welcome Jojo001,

I am sorry to hear you have been dealing with this. It sounds very scary. I am so glad you are working on this program. You CAN take control of this. It will take time and effort but you will be able to drive without panic and enjoy a cruise again. The program will help you but if you feel you need additional support consider working with a therapist.

Remember that avoidance reinforced the fear so when you are ready you will need to work on the avoidance. Take it step by step. Remember to reward yourself for working on the program and for each small achievement. Keep us posted on how you are doing. I am looking forward to reading about your journey through this, especially your successes.

I have been dealing with panic attacks for years. Never really understood what caused them or how to handle them. They usually happen only when I'm driving. Lately, they started happening whenever I'm in a car and I'm sitting in traffic, doesn't matter who's driving. It's getting so bad that we had to cancel a cruise for this week because I was having anxiety over being on the cruise ship and not being able to get off. I've been on cruises before so I know what to expect, but this one triggered panic attacks for days.  The cars are the worst. I am avoiding places where I know that traffic is heavy and places where traffic lights are long. I've been doing this program for 3 weeks and have seen some improvement.
