She recommended The Happiness Trap by Russ Harris. I bought it last night, along with the illustrated guide to the book and some journals.

Excellent so far. I had no idea I was wrong about happiness.

Glad things went well for you.  What book did the counselor recommend?

I am glad everything went well. Super happy your counselling appointment went well. Crying is normal and they see it all the time, no worries :)

Everything went well. I guess I have asthma after all! I wasn't sure. Everything went well. I also went to my first counselling appt which was ok. I cried. I feel embarrassed but oh well. I am sure she is used to it. They have kleenex on the table in anticipation. She recommended a book and some assignments. I see her again in a week.

As for right now, I am super tired. I will finish watching a baseball game and off to bed.

Thanks,

Kendra

It is very good that you got to talk to the nurse and get the right medication information. I hope your other doctor's appointment helps!

I wasn't able to get into my dr today, but I spoke to the nurse. I am to discontinue the medication immediately. Because I have asthma I should never have been prescribed it in the first place. I have an appt with another dr at 330 to get an inhaler.

I feel horrible and have sudden bruises. I am also fairly scared as you can all imagine.

You might as well talk to your doctor and see. If it puts your mind at ease. I can't help much more, I don't know that medication. Hang in there.

I don't take Propranolol...so can't comment on if the symptoms you are feeling are side effects or not.

Do you have asthma?  Propranolol is a non-selective beta blocker (I wont get into what that is here) and it can cause bronchospasms and increase airway resistance.  That could cause chest tightness....

I can't say one way or the other whether you should skip your dose or take it.  Do what you think is best for you.

Good luck.

I have been on citalopram and amitriptaline for many years, and for the most part they are really good. Recently I found my depression coming and I started to feel more anxiety and panic. So I went to my doctor and she suggested I slowly come off of amitriptyline which I take at night for migraine prevention and tmj. She prescribed Propranolol. I thought this would be ok.

I find that I have all the side effects if I read about them, so I let my husband read them and I just let him know how I feel. Since I started Propranolol I find that my chest kind of hurts and I developed bruises on my foot. I am not sure if this is real side effects or just my hypocondria. I am scared of taking this medication anyways, since I am used to just antidepressants. I read up on the medication and the reviews are great. I struggle with social anxiety so I love the idea of not turning bright read and not going blank and panicky when I talk. So I was hoping it would be good.

But I am also scared of my side effects. Anyone else ever been on it?

I am thinking of not taking the dose tonight and calling my dr in the am. I am scared because my chest feels tight, kind of like I have a cold or indigestion. It isn't horrible but it is worrisome. I just don't know if it is a real side effect!

Help!

Kendra
