Feeling very ill, hard time believing this is anxiety only

Hi, how are you doing now? I see it's been almost a year since you posted this. All of the symptoms you mentioned are actually the symptoms of Panic/Anxiety disorder. I bet you have figured that out by now.

I've had this problem multiple times, first starting out when I was yet diagnosed with anxiety and went to multiply doctors to see what was wrong. While they determined it was anxiety, my always being hot symptom was an outlier that seemed to be from Xanax as now I get cold and own jeans, sweaters, etc (shocker). However, recently, I had stomach pains so bad I went to a bland diet, had several tests as gallstones seemed to be what it mimicked, and then an endoscopy (which itself is a test that makes me very anxious, I was having an attack until the anesthsia knocked me out). They were checking for an ulcer, which they put me on meds for that were working. Will I do have a disorder that mimics an ulcer and that's why the meds helped, it was pretty much ALL anxiety. The brain is a powerful organ and you just can't let it use that power in ways you don't want. Change your thinking, your behavior, etc; that's why CBT helps. It's also helpful to know that it most likely is anxiety (though as not being a doctor, I can't be certain).

Sorina

It is anxiety, not "just anxiety". It is a serious change of thought pattern that needs to be turned around since it won't go on it's own. Once it gets to this stage it takes a lot of work to turn it around but it can be done.

Hi Sorina,

Only a doctor can assess you in person to determine the cause. Stress, anxiety and depression all can include symptoms you are describing on various levels of duration and intensity. How have you been trying to treat the anxiety? Have you noticed a relationship between your anxiety and your symptoms?

Welcome sorina

There isn't room her to post the connection between thought and symptoms, but there is one and it is logical. And it is normal in anxiety disorder even though it is not wanted. All those symptoms point to anxiety so if you can't find a different reason then that is what it is. And it is totally curable.

Hi all,
I guess I'm a long time sufferer from health anxiety/somatization, but I really have a very very hard time believing what I am going through is all unrelated to my somatic health. In the past month my life has been turned upside down again - I feel ill, although sometimes it is hard for me to specify what exactly is bothering me. I just feel ill like when you are feverish and all you want to do is stay in bed.
At other times, I had to come home from work because I get rapid hearbeats, dizziness, lightheadedness, a sensation that I am going to faint, tremors, incredible nausea, in reaction to which I start to tense my abdominal muscles (I suffer from emetophobia), I have trouble breathing (cannot control or make a steady rhythm of my breath for hours on end), have horrible palpitations (I have recorded puls of over 140) etc. Thing is, this does not last say 15 min - 30 min, but hours on end, sometimes even day after day with periods of relative diminishing of symptoms, although they easily reappear. I feel I cannot cope with this anymore, it is ruining my life.
I am also very irritable after weeks of feeling this ill and although I long for help and reassurance in a way, I also tend to have absolutely no patience with my soon to be husband and my mom, who is always very supportive.
I went to my GP, to a neurologist, a cardiologist who did an EKG and Holter monitoring for 24h, I had blood drown which showed only elevated calcium and elevated iron, but the rest were normal values.

Can these symptoms which take over my life really be just anxiety?
