Welcome sambiase.

That is a lot of books to read and not have one have the answers. Well I'm not surprised since most books are meant to make money and to make money they have to offer you what you want. Not what you need. What you need is a restructuring of your thought process. Well that is simple enough but I have a feeling you are the type of person that says show me the proof. Not just testimonials. Books are full of testimonials but little proof. I wrote a book, it has no testimonials and no filler. It isn't published and it isn't for sale. I wrote it because a friend asked me to It is 23000 words and covers everything I know about anxiety and panic attacks. It has a couple of drawings in it so all told it took 46 pages. Publishers won't look at anything under 200 pages. I don't intend to publish it anyway. But see I could if I wanted to throw in some testimonials and a lot of useless filler. In fact I could break it up into three stages and make three books. My point is that you don't need another book, you need something that works. And if I'm not mistaken the proof to go with it. If I am right then you could start by reading what I posted on memory. These are not my words but a condensing of others. It is a bit technical. But if you want to know why CBT works you just might want to read it. Then if you think it is telling you something you don't know you could read what I wrote on the thought triangle and if that isn't an eye opener I'll be surprised. This program is based on CBT and CBT works so, so will it. We are here for support and to answer any questions you have that we have the answers to. And it is free, no book to buy. We just want to cure people. And I know for a fact that we do. And not just temporary either.
By the way I'm just a member but a cured member.

I'm new to this so you will have to excuse me if I'm not posting properly.
Been going through some heavy duty anxiety the past 7  years.  I have read every book(over 50) on anxiety thinking it would help, of course temporarily but then comes back stronger with more symptoms. In the past - (25 years ago) I have had premature beats that I obsessed about until a cardiologist had me go through the usual tests and said it was anxiety and that I should try not to take on so many things...this was short lived and then a full blown case of anxiety that lasted 1 year.
Worked with a therapist weekly for a year and he assured me that I wasn't going crazy...that worked (I think)
10 years later before the birth of our first child...the whole anxiety thing came back. Back to the therapist to get the reassurance that I wasn't going crazy.  7 years ago went through a stressful period looking after a family member and reading all about strokes, heart conditions, and dementia...that I started to take on all these symptoms-yes I'm a hypochondriac (google is my friend when I'm bored and/or worried about pseudo  health issues). I have diagnosed and scared myself with all the different diseases and symptoms...too embarrassed to list here.
Through my google searches I found this site hoping to get to the bottom of this...I have started to avoid things slowly thinking that it might help reduce the symptoms...of course because my interpretation "that stress is no good for you"
and trying to control things.  I have self diagnosed and told by other professional that I have GAD and a bit of OCD and also a HYPOCHONDRIAC.  I have had EKG's ECHO's, HOLTOR MONITOR CT Scans, Colonoscopy the works.
I just registered in the program any tips suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
