Hi and welcome,

I had problems with the relaxation breathing as well. I went to youtube and found some very good videos on that. It helps me more to listen to someone telling me how to do it. I also close my eyes and just listen to the audio. It really helps me to relax now. Yoga Nidra is very relaxing as well. For sleeping, there are videos for that as well.

Thanks for explaining subscribing to the thread. I actually didnt know about your second either haha. But I just subscribed to the thread now and should from now on receive replies.

It might be a good idea for the site developer to put some type of message to say you have to subscribe or to automatically subscribe users that have started or replied on a specific thread. I read the relaxation section, I tried it the other night, but its kind of hard for me, it seems I control the breathing so much that I can't relax so it has the opposite effect. I should probably just keep trying? It's really hard for me to just relax and let go without thinking about or controlling what I'm doing. I must be honest, on nights that I can't or don't want to go to bed I just drink a small glass of wine. That relaxes me enough to fall asleep easily, but I don't want to start relying on that to sleep :)

I'm starting with Exposure Work section today, I know it will be difficult but I know that it will help too.

Regards
Lindy

Hello,

Did you subscribe to the thread? You would only get a notification in your email if you have subscribed to the thread.

I am sorry to hear you were having trouble sleeping and feeling so anxious. Check out the session on relaxation techniques. These techniques can really be helpful, especially when practiced regularly throughout the day and before bed. I use box breathing myself, when I have trouble sleeping.

I am glad to hear you are so far along in the program. Great work!

Hi Ashley and thank you for responding.

I don't know how I missed your reply but I somehow didnt get or see a message in my inbox telling me about it.

I've read through sessions 1 & 2 so far and I find it very helpful to write in the online journal my feelings and struggles. it also made me realize just how much I really struggle with anxiety. Right now I was trying to sleep but can't, I just feel my whole body is stressed. So I got up and thought of coming to this site again.

You asked in your msg what motivated me to come here...do you mean the site or forum? The reason I initially came to the site was because I struggle with anxiety, and specifically social anxiety also, but in general just always worrying and stressing about every thing all the time so much that I dread going to bed at night because I know it might be a struggle just to get to sleep.

Kind Regards
Lindy

Hello, I am new I joined the site today. Have been reading Session 1 articles and have been entering some info in my diary about the past week. I'm not really sure where to go next. I would like to talk to some people on here as I feel alone just reading and entering information. I would like to make new connections on the site if possible. I am a bit afraid of speaking to anyone but at the same time feel too alone in this not to reach out.
