Davit,
Sometimes people contribute, but there has to be a baseline, or touchstone as a start.

Hugs

Yes, that is so true, can you live with it. Maybe we should start our own quote of the day book. They might bemore relevant than just quotes.

Failure does not count. If you accept this, you'll be successful. What causes most people to fail is that after one failure, they'll stop trying.

Hi Davit,
Maybe that should be the quote of the day: "Stress is going to kill me faster than...".

As for being a perfectionist, I think the word is a misnomer.  Being an illusionist is more accurate, since there can't be perfection.

Red said something important during her struggle with her decision.  What I find important is asking myself  if I can live with the decision.

Hugs, There is a third choice that you don't see because you are a perfectionist. You could cook, give the dishes a quick rinse and clean up tomorrow. This is called compromise. You just might be too rigid. All things in balance. You need to take care of you but you also have to have fun doing it. When something gets in the way of that then I have to question how important it is. Stress is going to kill you faster than a messy kitchen.

Some men have thousands of reasons why they cannot do what they want to, when all they need is one reason why they can.
- Willis Whitney

Sometimes I go stir crazy just trying to decide which is a better decision.  Once a friend showed me his decision-making tool, which I saw later in a Jesuit's prayer book.

They both suggested looking at the pros/cons of doing the thing, using a column.  Then look at the pros/cons of not doing the activity, using a column.  I should end up with 4 columns.

Tonight, I could for example, cook everything.  The advantages would be that I'd feel confident, warm the cool kitchen, and mom can help, which she likes to do. The disadvantage is that I have to clean the mess up, and it would take more time, and I won't be able to go out.

The second choice, is that I won't cook.  The pros are that I can reheat something, have less dishes, and it's quicker.  The disadvantage is that the kitchen won't be as warm, and I don't get much confidence today, when I need it, and the dish might not be as fresh as a casserole.

If it was a more serious issue, I could sleep on it, meditate on it, and see how I feel in the morning.
