Pet Peeve or?

They say our pet peeves are often a strong value we have in reverse. So if repeating statements is a pet peeve of yours what would be the value behind it? Patience? Concise communication? What do you think hugs?

Well you know we like to hear from you to know you are okay.  Last time I stood up for my rights my brother quit talking to me. He still doesn't two years later but I get the odd Email. Life is sure a lot more peaceful. And it is nice being able to be me. (sometimes a grumpy old man) You have enough on your plate so take care of yourself and write when you can.

I guess I didn't do that right. It threw my bro into a rage. I'll try what you said, though. I'm exhausted from the ordeal with mom being in hospital. I've scheduled a massage and feel better, although it's half an hour away. I will say I'm tired of being a grumpy old man, and ashamed, somewhat. I think it amuses some people, who see this as a stereotype. I say, Oh well, wait till it happens to them. I wish I could return the support I've recieived here, but I'm at the hospital, where I get so used up, there's nothing left of me when I get home.

There is a condition where a person picks out a certain point and turns it into a question to make a point. They then repeat the question over and over to get their point over and neutralize your thoughts. It becomes habit with them and can lead to being done in all situations. Answer the question once, the second time answer by saying I have already answered that. Be assertive.

I find that I'm antagonized by a siblings need to me to repeat things 2-3 times? Is this a communication style which others notice, or am is it just part of my higher stress level.
