Daily Quote(part 3)

Failure is a detour, not a dead-end street.
- Zig Ziglar

Today, I seem to walking around in a tizzy.  I have so much "to do", yet I'm indecisive, and thrown off by stores  closing early, since it's xmas eve.  What's good is that I wasn't affected too much by a near state of emergency(yet).  I'm thankful.

But I don't know what to do with myself.

Maybe my quote should be:

"nothing to do, and all day to do it".

Put yourself in a state of mind where you say to yourself, "Here is an opportunity for me to celebrate like never before, my own power, my own ability to get myself to do whatever is necessary."
- Anthony Robbins

I liked the author in the movie "Shallow Hal".  I'm not sure about NLP, though.  It looks creative, and I've seen it used in courses for clergy as well as mainstream applications.

Ellen was a writer. She has this quote right but at least doesn't imply that everyone can do it only that it works. Doing it is still their choice.

Davit.

Hi Davit,
If this is the author of the book "Advanced Psychocybernetics", I'd be interested in reading his book.  I read a book many years ago by Maxwell Maltz, on a similar topic.

Davit, there is s a sports psychologist who coaches with the same idea that we can control thoughts, who wrote "performing under pressure", and I tried like hell to use his stuff during a job promotion, without success.   I choked, but eventually fit into another job.

I had my own great guru at the time, and my life was better.  I feel so lucky.

Someone writing about gratitude suggested making a jar and writing little notes to drop into it.  Mine would be a huge jar!

Nothing in life is so hard that you can't make it easier by the way you take it.

Now this quote is a crock. There are millions of people who have no control and don't know why. Your thoughts are not always your thoughts, often they were put there by others. Knowing which are which is important.
Obviously Mr. Paul with a G Thomas doesn't know this. Or how hard it is to do. Or how hard those of us have worked to succeed. The blind should not try to lead.
Arrogance is very apple and being an orange I will not live in that world.

The one thing over which you have absolute control is your own thoughts. It is this that puts you in a position to control your own destiny.

Hi Molly,
I went to a school where basketball, and John Wooden were admired!  Thanks for a positive memory.

Hi Jenn,
Your quote comes up periodically from the "toolbar" daily quote.  I never paid much attention to the author, until I realized how much of my life was enriched by him.

The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.
~ Nelson Mandela
