My Mind Doesn´t rest

I tried this today, with some concerns, since I didn't give myself the time to do all the stuff to prepare, so I was focused on what could wrong.
 
Worrying about showering(which I didn't have time for) and shaving(which I didn't), and getting nails clipped(I can't reach), and shoes that were too tight(have to return AGAIN, which will be hopefully accepted for an exchange), and having thick socks(with a hole which was finally mended) made me irritated.  I waited and saw no-one at the class, because the instructor nearly left, and apparently locked the door.
 
Moving slowly, helped me, and I became aware of my pains throughout my body, so there was some guidance about find the posture of comfort.  My fear is of being drawn into a philosophy contrary to my religious beliefs, but it should be okay, and I felt okay.
 
Everything doesn't have to be an orgiastic experience, I suppose.
 
I'd really rather be kung-fu fighting, but I'd get hurt in the process, so I'll see how I feel  later.
 
I'm impressed that the instructor has a martial arts background, so maybe some day, I can have "hands of lightning".

Tai Chi sounds like a great idea hugs.

Oh how I wish I had a switch to turn my brain off at night too! Unfortunately we don't . But what does help is doing relaxing activities before bed and slowly wind down. Turn most lights off when it it gets closer to bed time. Take a warm bath, read a good book or meditate. What would you like to do before bed that may help you fall asleep?

As far as I know there is no known reason why people sabotage themselves but a lot of people do it. And there is no switch to shut it off other than benzo's. What does help is self talk, like saying wait a minute, this doesn't work or I'm not going to do it anyway. But if you think there is any chance it will, you will replay it. And like panic the thoughts are often illogical so writing down the reasons it can't works. Besides being a distraction.

I've developed this habit of window shopping courses I'd like to take before I go to bed.  As I go to sleep, the ideas get spinning in my head, and I can't sleep, even getting up to look at the course online in mid morning.
 
I think I somehow outsmarted myself and got back to relax and sleep, but the ice cream I had gave me a sore stomach.
 
Wish I had a switch to turn myself off mentally.  The same happens physically, since working out at night won't help, and I'll be too wired to sleep.
 
Have others found that 'switch'?  I might find it since I'm going to start Tai Chi soon, but I have to register, and convince the "negative" me to get the money on the table and engage...
