Beautiful written Davit.

You are right though, it would be nice to hear what other members had to say. Don't be shy. Just a quick post to let us know you are with us in this process of trying to grow the community would be helpful.

Ashley

It seems our community is going to shrivel up if I'm the only one with a point of view. And it is only my point of view, it isn't gospel. It may not even address necessary needs. But how are we to know what is important if people don't speak up. ( he says as he throws his hands in the air and gets another coffee) Could it be that I scare people away because I'm fine and they can't relate. So listen people the object here is to be fine eventually. And how can we support if we don't know you exist. So we need to recognize our new members even if they are not in forums. That first conversation can be scary. Like my first date, I don't want to remember it.

Experience and observation are the basis of learning. Book learning is someones experiences and observations with others disputes or agreements proving a point, theirs or someone else's. So everyones point of view is important and what may seem like just babble here has value and relevance to someone. It certainly does to me.
I would like people to think they can come here for more than information, since information is only part of the cure. Interaction and observation is the other part. How can we prove to ordinary people that CBT works without showing that we are ordinary people also who are just like them only we are fighting and winning and they can too. I may have more experience and more information than most but I started the same as everyone. Standing just as vulnerable to this condition as everyone else. And just as surprised and scared as everyone else. And even worse, like so many I thought I would never get better. I thought it was permanent and there was no cure. That is what this condition does to us. Not so.
I feel that anyone who wants to put in the time will win. And I also feel that participating in the forums will speed up the process. I want to hear your storey, I want you to know you have a friend in me. And I want you to know that I will do what ever it takes to support you. One on one or part of the group.

So members, new and old, what have I missed. I am only one voice, it is not enough.

We all know that this support group has a special  group of members and we want to keep it that way. We also want to build on the many strengths we already have. This thread will be dedicated to doing just that. This will be a  thread where we share ideas on how to grow this community and make it stronger. This isn’t about technical requests or complaints (save that for the feedback section please). This is a thread where members organize to touch more lives and  to make this place a more fulfilling outlet for everyone.

One of the greatest strengths we have in this community is our veteran members. I hope that our veteran members add their input in here as they see fit as this community would not exist without them. I also hope our new members share their thoughts as the more new voices we have the stronger we become!

I want the members here to lead this growth and organization of efforts because you all are the life blood of this site. But to get the discussion flowing here are some questions you may want to think and write about:
What do you think is important to focus on in growing this community? What can the members do to aid this?
What are your gifts and what are the gifts of the other members that we can utilize?
How can the members and Health Educators make this place a more welcoming place for all?
What are our community’s strengths?
