Day one totally nic free.

Tryagain, my heart goes out to you. I have been nicotine free for 18 days and it has been up and down. You have so many days on your quit from cigarettes, your lungs must be much clearer but you brain is still getting it's fix from the gum. Your body and brain try any tactic to get you to take just one more puff. That is what addiction is. Accept that you are addicted to nicotine and work to remove the drug from your system. I'm trying to do the same thing. It is not just smoking we want rid of it is the drug. THE ADDICTION. Your pin name ends with Gain. I'm sure you will make it through this. best,BLUE CLOUD My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 18 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 360 Amount Saved: $72.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 11 Mins: 31 Seconds: 54

Emotional wreck!

Hey Sam,(((hugs))), I've been the same way. Can't keep from crying in front of my kids and grandkids. Makes me feel very weak. I too am an emotional wreck. I am addicted to nicotine. I smoked 46 years. I know it is going to take time to re-program my intire body and soul. Withdrawals are not fun. Addiction is not fun. I just keep telling myself that I am willing to trade discomfort today for a chance at a better life in the future. I have to believe this can happen if we just don't take one more puff. We (you & I) are very new at this. We must be patience and we must not feel sorry for ourselves. This quit is for me. I am the one who don't want to smoke and I'm the only one to decide this. I wont let nicotine control my thoughts and actions!!!!cry if you must it releives pressure. Laugh if you can, it produces dopamine for a feel good feeling.Make yourself laugh, go ahead, try it.HEEHee My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 18 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 360 Amount Saved: $72.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 11 Mins: 44 Seconds: 24

Another trip Another Day

My week at home was enjoyable and stressful. Not enough space for details. I'm still smoke free and made the trip without chewing my straw into. When I got to work the house was so full of smoke I could barely get my breath. There was more than one smoker here while I was gone. Thank goodness i can retrieve upstairs where it is smoke free. I think the smell is disgusting so far it is a turn off instead of a trigger. New guy

Good Morning and welcome to another smoke free day. This is doable and you are doing it. Little by little. I am on day 20 now and I will have to say IT IS BETTER I am not out of the woods by no means but I do think I'm going to make it. If you think you can you can. Take sips of cold water and breathe. The craves will begin to get shorter and you will gain momentum. I didn't think so at first but now I do. You will too!!!BLUE CLOUD My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 400 Amount Saved: $80.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 17 Mins: 5 Seconds: 52

Twenty Days and better

Hey all friends in SSC. I am happy to report that today is my 20th day smoke free and the 1st day to be comfortable. I know I'm not any where near where I am going but I feel good enough to think I'm going to get there. The cravings were more like thoughts today. It was fairly easy to redirect my thoughts and move on. I didn't have nearly as many (thoughts) today as all the days before. I know I am getting better. Thanks to this site and all of you giving me courage to continue. I'm sure I'm going to make it.BLUE CLOUD My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 400 Amount Saved: $80.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 18 Mins: 26 Seconds: 0
