Oh those Down Days - They will Pass

Good Post Stickin To It I've been having all of those kind of blah days too...just don't feel like doing anything...but am determined to protect my quit. you see...I know the craves will pass eventually as long as I don't cave and smoke..I know I am a new person...just don't know exactly who yet...but am going to find out. I also know that exercise will take my mind away or at least give it better food to work with in thinking about my good health reasons for quitting and remaining a Non-smoker! We recieved about 5 inches of snow Tuesday night, just moving back to Ohio in May...(from Florida)...it was like waking up on Christmas morning in my childhood...I was soooo excited. I actually got up on Wednesday...very excited about the idea of shoveling snow (first time in about 12 years. Now why on earth would I be excited about a back-breaking job like shoveling snow????? Because...I got the opportunity to start testing my lung capacity, the chance to think clearly about those reasons why I want to be a Non-smoker,creating sore muscles from the lack of exercise that my body desparately needs, and help me start creating a plan for more exercise to change my life. (My old person as a smoker no longer exists). just wanted to throw that in... auntdeb My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 38 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,921 Amount Saved: $180.5 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 6 Mins: 53 Seconds: 10

Exhausted to the point of being paralyzed

Try again, Katy's right...make yourself get up and get going do something...anything that will put some activity in your day (not a real good choice, but even pacing the floor) Depression goes right along with the craves, but exercise helps neutralize the depression. Get mad .....this is an addiction and you have to fight it. yesterday, I shoveled snow for six hours...my back is killing me!! but....I am not depressed today... "I feel good...la..da..la..da..la, like I knew I would"!!! Today...(I'm not quite finished with the driveway, but enough room to get the car out..tee-hee)...I'm going to spend the afternoon with my daughter and 9-mo old grandson...because...they need me. auntdeb My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 38 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,921 Amount Saved: $180.5 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 6 Mins: 54 Seconds: 50

New member saying hi

mjbsuns, Welcome...and congratulations for continuing to be a Non-Smoker! Chantix user here as well. Best product I ever used to quit. A grandma, 56, 2 1/2 pack a day smoker for 30+ years. quit once cold-turkey for 10 yr,,,went back like a fool after a divorce and during the beginning of menopause. If they had had Chantix then, and I would have known then what I know now about smoking and its effect on masking depression and other psychological issues....I wouldn't be on this site. I would be a 25 year Non-Smoker!!! So glad you found our site...tons of information here for you and maybe some of your friends who might want to quit but are afraid. keep the quit and join us often in posting or commenting with your imput. auntdeb :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 38 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,917 Amount Saved: $180.5 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 6 Mins: 40 Seconds: 41

day 2

Pea, Welcome...to the SSC. You have made the Best Decision you will ever make in your life. You have found the best support group you will ever find. We are all ex-smokers who have gone through everything you are about to experience. We can share with you what worked for us. you can share your feelings, your cravings and frustrations of how "do I get through this". We are strangers to you...and sometimes strangers make for better support than loved ones. You can tell us anything without fear of rejection or being judged. If you need help in deciding on perhaps a non-smoking aid, we can give you some real imput as to how they have helped some of us. Or if you are going cold-turkey...there are many "Cold-Turkiers" here who can help you get through this as well.... Hang with us Pea...you won't be sorry auntdeb My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 38 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,919 Amount Saved: $180.5 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 6 Mins: 42 Seconds: 38
