Hello Michelle
Welcome aboard and happy that you are ready for the journey. Frankly this is the place that is going to help you the most. There is a load, and I mean load of successful quitters here and, a wealth of assistance and quit knowledge. Good to have you! All aboard!
Lady
Yes you are doing oh so well, and your help given back to the community is very desirable indeed. Your positive attitude and actions are to be commended. There are many, many quitters to tend to. Attention, experience and a guiding light fit the formula for those who can provide help, and you have these qualities. Keep up your sound advice, and your determination to stay smoke free.
Hello Mistymoon
You say 50 and I say you are amazing, and it shows us that one can get through the thick of it. Werent you smoking two to three packs per day? It takes the "I want to, I can do, and I am going to do" attitude. You have all the right ingredients. Very impressive quit, really impressive! Shall we now shoot for day 60? What do you say Mistymoon?
Hello all new newcomers and welcome. Yes, help is here. Are you ready to stick to your quit? Congratulations to lady who passed the 14 month and rvman who just passed 200 day, hooray.
Marie would be in the 80 day quit area and PrincessC, would be approaching the 60 day area. Both Marie and Princess are in the thick of it you know, who to help you better. Ask for their assistance. Longer quitters such as myself forget the turmoil of the initial quit stages. Lets do the positive quit, and the attitute is straight.

The gold star belongs to PrincessC and Hannaher. I recall seven weeks to be a MAJOR turning point and both of you have surpassed this milestone. So delightful to be cruising with you!
Hello Icandoit
My two cents. A thread I wrote a while ago. Maybe some can help you. Good luck to you.
How can a person get there? Do not dwell on the smoking urges that come your way. They will pass in a few seconds or minutes. Think about other things, take a walk, chew on a carrot or celery stick, take 3 or 4 slow deep breaths, drink some water, work out with some weights, do some hiking or uphill walking.
I remember I used to love to smoke when driving a car. Replace that urge and grab a bottle of water to take with you. As I remember the first 5 to 7 days are the worst, two weeks gets easier. If you can, stay away from people who smoke for the first month. When you get the urge, tell it to go away, dont bother me.
Take it hour by hour, day by day. The days will begin to turn into two days between urges, 3 day.. and so on. It can be done and you can do it. Just look at the list of people on this web page who have done it, all the money they have save, and all the longer they will live a healthier life for it.
