Before I quited smoking I have been searching the internet and I know a whole lot about smoking and quiting. I have read many forums and spoken to many men and women that quited smoking. I am writing a book about quiting smoking and I will be done writing in two weeks.
I've noticed that many people talk about having cravings but I have never had one myself. I don't have one problem and I have never been happier since I quit smoking. I want to share that with you all.
I discovered that some people who quit keep going on thinking as a smoker. Some act like non-smokers but acting and thinking are two different things. A person who still thinks as a smoker feels that he/she is missing something. They think about cigarets as something good and that is the biggest mistake ever. A cig. does nothing for you and never has. It's all in the mind. My first 4 days where not easy because the nicotine had to go out of my body. Once that was over I was done smoking.
I have more time than ever and I do something good with it, I write. I've changed my whole lifestyle and I feel brandnew.
I've also noticed that some people, who say they are in trouble because of their quit, don't want to hear about the way I think about quiting but that's their problem. They still think as smokers and as long as they keep doing that they cannot be a happy quiter like I am.
Think about this and maybe it can help someone.
I realize that this is my experience and my opinion. It helps me and maybe I can help someone else too.
Dutch hugs, Fini :)

Hi all, I'm very upset right now but I'm not going to smoke. I just came back from the doctor and he found a lump in my breast. I have to go to the hospital tomorrow for x-ray and ultrasound. I'm scared to death. The worst part is that my boyfriend lives in Florida and cannot visit me. I'm alone.

This is my first quit. I have no problems what so ever. I do NOT know what craving is. I searched the internet for more than 3 months before my quit-date and I know a lot about smoking. What I have discovered is this: People will have problems if they quit but still THINK as a smoker. Most people act as if they are non-smokers, but they keep thinking as a smoker. A smoker thinks he/she is missing something by not having cigarets. That is the biggest mistake quiters make. I know some people wil disagree with this but this is my opinion.

The game England lost was bad for me too cause I'm a soccerfan aswell. I'm sorry about that. That you still not smoke is really good. With all that stress you've been through.....you do great. Keep up the good work and make your wife happy.

Cheryl, I am a newbie on this group. I didn't even know a group like this existed. I found it by coincedence when I was looking for information. In The Netherlands we have groups like this but the people who are there are soooooooo depressed that I didn't want to be a part of that. This group is way better. Thank you for the support, all of you guys :)
Love Fini :)

April 1 I quited smoking and thought to my self.....I can always tell people it was a joke. (lol) Now 3 months later, I am a non-smoker. How about that??? I feel great, relieved and proud.
From The Netherlands..........have a nice weekend.

Dear Elaine,
I know what you are going through but you know you can do it !! Don't ever give in. What helped me was to stay busy. My house was never cleaner than the first week of my quit. It will get easier girl, believe me. Hang in there and good luck, we are here for you.
