RedRosie, just wanted to add that since my quit date, the inspiration I get from your response to posts has been invaluable. You and several others are always so kind and caring to give thoughtful and honest advice when we need support. That takes alot of time and heart! Don't hesitate to let us know when you need some back.
Keep on Kickin' Ash! :)

Butterfly, I'm only into day 16 of my quit, but I have come to know you on this site as someone that has contributed so much to all of us. It will be difficult to get used to not seeing what you have to say when someone really needs to hear how to handle things, but I am glad you are focusing on what you need to do for yourself. Thanks for all the words of encouragement, and always taking the time to respond. Good luck! :)

H, I can relate, my quit date is close to yours (1/29/06) and I have had more trouble in the last 3 days than I did in the beginning. I think the addiction is screaming to stay alive, but I'm just gonna ignore it because that's all it is. The posts from golferman about addictions and the mantras (under Forum for New Users) have helped alot today. We have to remember why we quit, and that we are not really in our right mind right now. Keep moving toward the light of being a non smoker. Hang in there!

Hi Redrosie, I'm from a fairly small town in southwest VA - Blacksburg. We're supposed to have snow flurries today, and maybe some sleet!! The daffodils look pretty in snow!! :)

Iwin,
I think Golferman had an excellent description of this in one of his threads, and I think it is about the "nicotine receptors" in our brains never ever forget the nicotine. Is there anyone that remembers that particular thread, and could you bump it if possible? I can't seem to put my finger on it.
Hey all Ash Kickers!! I am still here, thank you, Fish! And thank you for taking over the reins of our group. I haven't been on as much, but I do still need the encouragement I find on this site - I couldn't have done it without you all sharing your stories. We're a small but strong group, keep it up!! :)
