foods to help reduce anxiety

Chris,   Thank you for sharing some valuable information on this thread.   Members, as Chris mentioned, it is strongly encouraged that you speak with your family doctor to understand the full effects and benefits of each vitamin.   Sarah, Health Educator

New to the site.

WQ,

Welcome to the support group. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you.  We are all a group of individuals who support each other.

If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests.  These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor.

We also have developed a Panic Program.  This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above.  Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.

These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free".  If you have any question or concerns with our “TOOLS”, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net.  We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have.

Pleas continue to strive forward and lean on us for support.

Good Days

CM,

What a great success story. Thank you for sharing and congratulations!

You definitely deserve the break! Don't forget to give yourself some time to unwind over the holidays before you start school again next semester.

Again, congratulations!

Lousy Day

cm,

It sounds like you had a very difficult day.

Since your last post, have you been able to speak to your mum about what happened between the two of you? Perhaps after taking the walk and having some space, you can come back to the discussion and let her know how you feel?

Although the incident with the bird was hard for you, you should know that you did all (and more) that you could!

Please continue to post and let us know how you are doing.

just to say

karla,   Thank you for the update.   Rewards can be incredibly important in helping you manage. Here's why:

1- Rewards positively reinforce the behaviours you are trying to establish.

2- Rewards give you something to work towards. Resisting will be easier if you are rewarded for overcoming emotions.

3- Rewards are motivational and make you happy.

Tips

1- Reward yourself for every craving you overcome and every situation/trigger that you've handled well, smoke free.

2- Choose rewards you value and are willing to work towards. Acquiring them must be important to you.

Rewarding yourself can be as simple as taking a walk in your favourite park to buying a new item of clothing or getting a new haircut. But rewards are unique and ultimately your decision.

Members, any advice for karla on suitable rewards? What has your experience been with rewarding yourself? Please share!     Sarah, Health Educator

Habits

Earlbiggs,

When thinking about medication and dosage, it is best to consult your doctor and speak to them about your concerns. They will also be able to tell you the side effects of caffeine or alcohol with these medications.

Members, what has your experience been with alcohol or caffeine? How has this affected your ability to manage anxiety? Please share!

Lousy Day

CM,

Thanks for keeping us posted.

The ups and downs can definitely be difficult to manage. What types of coping strategies do you have in place?

How to Avoid Holiday Stress Part 4

 Members,

Learn to say no. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you have to say no, people will understand. If you do say yes when you know you don’t want to you’ll end up resenting others and feeling overwhelmed. If working overtime is necessary, try clearing other tasks from your schedule.

Don't throw away healthy habits. Don’t let the holidays take over your diet. With all the tempting foods at arms reach it may seem like a good idea to indulge but overindulging will only add stress and guilt. Choose the healthiest of the selection like the fruit and veggies and don’t go overboard on sugary treats, and drinks.

Lousy Day

CM,

Sorry to hear about your lousy day. When you think about your anger and irritation, was there one event or one interaction that created these feelings for you? You also mentioned that you were not always like this, was there an event that happened that created this anger for you? It is important to reflect on the formation of this anger and how these emotions continue to affect you.

It seems from your posts that your mum is very important to you and essential in your coping. Do you think there is a reason why you fight with your mum in particular, or do you find yourself taking the wrong meaning from what other people say as well?

Members, what has your experience been with anger management? Has anyone else experienced these feelings of anger and irritation? Please share!
