Lump in throat! HELP!

Ivoryplum,   Glad to hear things were going better. In regards to the lump in your throat; continue working through the program.. this will help you determin what it is that causes this anxious feeling. Try doing relaxation exercises, meditation, yoga, box breathing anything that will help you relax a little.   If this persists, you should talk to a health care professional. Take care of yourself and be well,     Sylvie, Bilingual Health Educator

Developing Healthier Core Beliefs

Members,

The next step in changing negative core beliefs is to put the definitions you came up with last week of the negative & positive core beliefs and put them on a scale. The negative side under zero, 50 down the middle and the positive core belief under the 100 number. Then rate yourself on the scale.

Next, review where you rated yourself and why. Ask yourself if this is really true and how you can take steps to improve your rating.

Any questions?

Managing Anxiety

Members,

Along with the classic symptoms of depression (sadness, feelings of guilt, suicidal thoughts…) most people with depression also have significant anxiety symptoms. Although we tend to think of depression as being a condition of low arousal, slowing down or even hibernation, depression is often associated with high arousal, speeding up and agitation.

On the other hand, people with anxiety disorders commonly experience many of the symptoms associated with depression.

Are you experiencing both sets of symptoms? Are you having trouble managing your symptoms?

A bit discouraged at the moment...

Miki,   Come vent whenever you'd like! You say you've done everything you could at this point.. may we ask what that was?  Is there anything you could think of that you haven't tried yet?     Sylvie, Bilingual Health Educator

i feel so alone

Alexandra,   It's great that you're trying to help yourself, that's a great first step. What have you done in the past that has allowed you to live anxiety free? What do you believe are contributing factors to your anxiety? What could you change to make this easier for yourself?     Sylvie, Bilingual Health Educator
