Hi everyone. I have been smoke free for 3 weeks but still on the patch. I went cold turkey from the patch a week ago and flew into panic mode quickly. I went to my doc who prescribed 150 mg Wellbutrin XL. She said go back on the patch and keep taking the Wellbutrin. I took it Tuesday (Wellbutrin) and I was all jumpy and nervous. But I still had the 'brain fog' and I still had the severe case of insomnia. I read where it said to take it right before bedtime so I did last night. I was still in a tiny panic mode but managed to fall asleep and stay asleep. This morning my body wants to get up and go but I cant shake this brain fog. I had a full panel of blood tests and all are very normal. I have noticed I do not miss the cigs themselves but it's the nicotine. I am on 14 mg patch.
Is the brain fog normal? As well as going into a short crying mode? I feel I am totally out of my element since I quit. It's like being bumped by a huge wave and as soon as I come back up for air, I am smacked again. I know I am prolly not making any sense but to me, it makes perfect sense.
Did anyone else follow the same path as I am doing now?
TY Josie :) I have had a rotten day :( Everything was going great until both kids started fighting and arguing. I haev explained over and over again to them, I want to smoke when I am stressed and since I cannot smoke, everything is magnified worse than it is and not smoking makes it worse. Yet they do not listen. I am sitting here so upset b/c of it all. I am at my wits end. How can I explain to them to understand what their mom is going thru? One is 9 and the other is 11.
Since I quit, everything seems more like a scene from Mission Impossible.
Yesterday for about 3 hrs, the fog was gone and then it came back w/ full force :(
You know how you end up sick if you drink too much? Well, that is exactly how I felt :( I was talking to my friend and she swore up and down I was drunk :( I literally was tossing out my entire stomach b/c I was sick :(
I just know I am tired of this horrid feeling and it is starting to wear me down :(
