Reaping the Rewards???

Charm I love this post!

I always had a great sense of smell, or so I thought, until I quit.  Finding it so great  that I did not smell of smoke was wonderful.  It was the bad smells that were the worst thing.

2 years ago, I had Chemotherapy........that also heightens your sense of smell......I now carry a Vicks mini inhaler with me, and when my nostrils are offended by unpleasant smells, I take a quick sniff of the menthol.  It works!

Hello, my name is Twain and I?m a new nonsmoker

Dear Twain,

Congratulations on taking the decision to quit!  It is quite a committment!

Please do not give yourself a hard time about using NRT.  Remember they are a tool, a help, NOT a substitute for cigarettes.  They can make a huge difference in whether your quit succeeds or not.

Many of us on this site used NRT.  In my case I used everything I could think of to help me to quit.  This site was the most helpful, along with a determination to kill off my Nicodemon.

Do as your doctor says and stick with the programme!  Stay Strong!

Hubby

Dearest Sparky,

You have suffered more than most of us do while trying to quit!  Your personal struggle has been amazingly hard......most people would have given up and stopped trying - maybe you should call yourself a 'trier' rather than a repeater, as it shows you are aiming for a goal.

You have demonstrated huge personal courage in this past year and it is an inspiration to so many...new quitters and old alike!

I hope to be around to support you in the future and say that I am so proud to know you and count you as a friend.  My regards to both you abd Dewey.

HI!! I am new here and I want to quit smoking more than anything!

Dear Cyndi,

"I want to quit smoking more than anything."

That phrase above is the true key to quitting!  It does not mean it is easy, or without pain, but it does mean you will do anything rather than smoke!

Whatever it takes - just don't smoke!

If you can do that, you will have quit!  SSC has supported so many people in their quits, and I suggest you let us help you.....................
Follow the programme, answer the questions, prepare for the cravings etc.  Freedomby30 is right, you need to plan.

Stay close to the site and read as much as you can, post often, and don't let the hard times deter you from your goal of  'Freedom'.

Lolly.         (I smoked for 40 years and quit here at SSC.)
