Well,  dern it!

Your names did not add to my list!

I went to add Lola and Jay but neither has added to my list of buddies.
However, I now have someone named Unknown.

?????

Sorry peeps. Maybe the mods can figure it out.

Good lord, yes, go to bed!
I'm an early to bed type myself so I'm winding down.

I just sent my "unknown" person an IM so it will be fun to see who it is.

I was able to just chat with Tresa.

Hope this all sorts out.

You Made It Jay

Hey Jay,
That is so cool... shows you have a big heart that is full of love for your family.  You are doing such a good thing by quitting as you will have even more years to live and love.

I can relate to the money squeeze. I was starting to feel guilty about buying smokes when I added it up. Now, at least I'm not burning up the money on cigarettes!
Dark chocolate, eh??? You have many friends here! We seem to all be on a chocolate kick.
lol!
That is a great reward! perfect!

Take it easy and I'm sticking here in your cheering section!

HotSiO2 has 1 year today !!!!!!!

Oh Jim,
This must be a LEAP YEAR!!

Leap of faith, that is.
And maybe some some p, p, p, p, preparation?

I'm late to the party but this is not to be missed. Without you, I would not be the quitter I am.
You were always there for me... Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I think one of the first posts I ever read was something about you having M&Ms at your desk. Haha, I always remember chocolate. Seems like such a long time ago, wobbly sea legs as new non smokers. You got it right from day one. You are awesome!

You deserve the best and hope your ankle is ready for your dive trip.
Take care and many, many congratulations!

Best,
HP

Its no Joke! Henny Penny is one year smoke free!!!

Awwwwwww....
 You guys are sooooo sweet!
I've sure missed everyone here.

Nope, I never ever thought I'd ever make it this far.
Do you see me dancing around here??? I'm one happy chicken!

Today I'm having a CAKE with one candle on it.
Because this day is my new birthday!!!
So from here on out... every 01APR will have one more candle on the cake!
(Plus, I'm such an old bat, I don't really want to celebrate the other one anymore lol )

When I blow out the candle, my wish will be for all of our continued success ( and maybe I win the lottery too).

I would never have gotten this far without this site and ALL of you. That is a fact.
So here is a toast to whatever random keystrokes brought me here and to the great people I have met.

Your pal forever,
xoxo
HP

PS... Impala... You are doing great!  SEE? This place rocks!
Deb... There you are! So happy to see you again! That dino's got nothin' on me!
Smurf and Deb and Jim...Always a warm spot in my heart for my March quit neighbors. You all have a year now too. It's been something, hasn't it? I've shared my journey with all of you and proud to be your friend.
Marivi, Bob - thank you... I hope to get to know you better... you are doing great!!!
Kaiser... Thank you for all the encouragement and kind words.
Jazz ... You are such a great supporter of everyone here! Thanks!

And lastly to my friend Rock... I was WRONG!!!! Wrong, wrong, wrong.
There CAN be too many rewards.
and they are all on my hips!

And The Day is Today for many!

Hi Lori,
Welcome to the SSC!  Just had to stick my nose in to say hi and give you an earful...

You remind me of me. I just up and quit one day.  I was headed for my first day of jury duty and slapped a patch on my arm to get through the day in a nonsmoking building. Thought to myself, hey... how long can I go without a cig? Well, one year so far today! You can do it too! I found this site about three weeks later and it saved my quit. Everyone here has been super.

You have gotten some great advice from others.
Here are some little tricks...
Ice Water!
Distraction yourself. TV, video games, movies. Go someplace where you can't smoke.
Change your routine, drive a different route, sit in a different chair at home.
Things to fiddle with.. some people like straws or coffee stirrers. Dum Dum lollopops are good too - they last about as long as cig.
A pillow to scream into :)
Stay here on this site as much as possible! When a crave hits, come over here and post!!!
I was glued here in the beginning.
Many here have read the Allen Carr book to quit.  Great tool for a positive attitude.
Think of all the good things you are feeling... you are FREE!!

Don't worry right now about the upcoming drive.  I did and it freaked me out!  When the drive came along it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.  Jim made good points.  I keep flosser picks, licorice and lollipops in the car. You will have the worst two weeks done with by the time you drive.

Most of all.. hang in there! Or like Tresa says.. "Hang Tough"!
Just hang on tight and it WILL get better!

Best,
HP

first few minutes smoke free

Hi Neva,
Welcome!
You are so smart to quit. I just up and quit one day too.
I saw this and had to give you a bit of encouragement.

Read all you can here, get a plan and go for it!!!
Stick with your quit buddies and post here if you get a crave.

Best,
