Bi-polar & not smoking

I am in the last part of my week 3 of no smoking. I have manic depression-bipolar tendancies & yesterday was a horrible bugger. This was my 1st episode since I quit smoking. I didn't realize what was going on, but I had no craving for a cigarette, which I found really strange. I now know what signs to look for in the future if & when it happens again. I am sooooo proud of myself not to have had a REAL set-back. I'm going to reward myself tomorrow, even before my 4th week starts on Tuesday. need some support

Booling, if it helps even better than saying "I WILL NOT SMOKE. IT WILL NOT HELP", then scream it. Out Loud!!! At The Top Of Your Lungs. That's what I had to do yesterday & I felt a lot better. Bi-polar & not smoking

I also have a telephone support group, who I called yesterday for the 1st time, & in their information that was mailed to me, they suggested you reward yourself at least once a week for your milestones. You're right, I'm going to reward myself more often. I just didn't realize what a task quitting was going to be. I have some extra money saved up now & I deserve it. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of you & your strong support. I think I might get a foot massage to release more toxins out of my body. Only costs $20.00. BJ, love your doggie picture!! Bi-polar & not smoking

Hello to all of you. I started the discussion on bi-polar last weekend & am sooooo glad to see the responce & support you are giving to each other. I'm ok, once again. Next Wed. is my 1 month anniversary of no smoking. It hasn't been easy but I've cut back on my blood pressure meds & that helps. I was way too jittery in the mornings. The doc said my blood pressure would go down & it did. I check it every day. The best part of the day is when I wake up in the morning & that DEEP breath, clear down to my belly. Man, that feels good & pure. I'm doing GREAT

OK, I'm patting myself on the back this past week because I'm doing better than I ever thought possible. I'm down to the 14 mg patch & not using the lozengers & I feel better than when I was on the 21 mg's. I have been able to cut my blood pressure meds in 1/2 & don't have the jitters like I did like the past month. Maybe after the 1 1/2 packs a day & going to the 21 mg patch was too much nicotine, I don't know. This week was another test for me. I was doing my morning walk & in front of me were 2 women & 1 was smoking a cigeratte. I thought to myself, OK, this is going to be interesting. I saw the cigarette in her hand & SMELLED the smoke. The 1st thought in my mind was "That is why I quit." I had no erge to think about finding a cigarret (see I can't even spell it correctly anymore) I just knew I was finally at a higher level of my quit. I feel soooo great, but I'm getting the extra inches on my body. Here's one for you!! I pretty much put something in my stomach when my belly growls or when it hurts from the acid in my stomach eating away at my stomach lining. So I drink some milk to coat the belly. That takes care of the hurting for about 3 hours. I'm not eating any junk food unless that is all I have when the pain starts. I don't have, thank God the hand mouth habit, just the empty belly more often. There is no way I'm anorexic or anything like that. What do you think???? Thank you for your support & I LOVE the meter that let's me know how many cig's, money saved, etc!!! HELP!!!!!!

Rain, the 3rd day was my 1st worst. I was ready to pull my hair out & I just had to SCREAM!!!! And I did. Most of the day. My phone coach called me the next day, out the blue, & she said the 3rd day was the worst for a lot of people. That explained a lot. Focus on tomorrow & it REALLY gets easier. Not much but 1 day at a time is all we can think about right now. For as much as I smoked, my supporters are so amazed at how great I'm doing. And so can you.
