Day one on my quest to quit. I quit once for 2 years, why I ever started again ??? My excuse was my dad died, but I went along time without smoking only to start again.
My goal here is #1 to quit. #2, wife says I can buy a new Harley Sportster, since my quiting will more than cover the payment. I want to go one month before I buy my new bike.
I have been smoking about 31 years, started when I was 12 or 13, trying the lozenges 4mg to help right now, they taste like dirt.
Oh, I should add, I have a stressful job, I work in Law Enforcment. I really need to stick to it this time though. I have great support for this from my wife and kids, I know I can quit, its just being around smokers that is the hardest.
2007 Harley Davidson 1200cc Sportster, I see you shining in my driveway now.
Well home from work, did'nt smoke all day !!! It was hard at shift end, used to hanging in the parking lot burning one and shooting the breeze. Getting support from co-workers so far, even if I did try to bum one, I don't think they would give me one.

Had bad headache last night. I know its withdrawl, I actually thought about going and getting a pack last night just so my headache would go away. I did'nt though, I just went and took a nap/tried to. Hope the headache is not going to be a daily thing.

I agree those who smoke want to quit, I was sick of having bad breath, spending money, my car stunk. I always smoked outside, so my house was O.K. Also it hit me as funny, my smokes money is still in my wallet, I would usally but a carton on sunday on my way home from work. Woo Hoo.... So far so good.

Gonna try this again, as of this posting I have gone about 60 hours without smoking. This time I'm trying Chantix, been taking it 6 days right now, it seems to help some, but the impulse to smoke is very strong. I failed in my last attempt, hoping this one goes better. 31 years of smoking, its become a habit of nature as my doctor tells me, he tells me breaking the nicotine habit will be easy, its the times I have pre programmed myself to smoke that will be hard, so far he appears to be right. Trying hard candy for those times, its not the same...
