The Homestretch!

As day one comes to an end I can honestly say that I haven't gotten this much exercise or drank this much bloody water in A LONG TIME! It's been great, I feel awesome and the dog is getting tons of walks! The headache is ever present but I am hoping that this will subside soon. Looking forward to Thursdays with the Waist Watchers! Thank you everyone!

Day 4 -smokes on the dresser

Cheers to you! I had the same thing happen to me today (and on my day 1! sheesh!). It was in the back of my head ALL DAY, but I left it and gave it to my hubby when he got home from work. It's definitely hard doing this with someone who smokes! On the positive side, he has agreed to smoke outside for the first few days and even called me this afternoon and suggested that he is thinking about quitting on his birthday which is mid Nov! I hope he does! Anyway, this is about you, not me! Just wanted to say that i feel where you are coming from and to congratulate you on your strength! :)

First Day!

Thanks everyone! Man, i love this place, everyone is so great!! So, I've been tryng to keep busy but my head is POUNDING! and my teeth hurt! I've walked to the grocery store and back and been drinking tons of water. I've told the hubby that he is not going to be able to smoke in the house for the first couple of days and he has graciously agreed. I've also started my new diet today as well, so I will be joining you all on that thread too! So I'm not sure if my headaches are from not smoking or from not eating enough. I think it's the not smoking. Isn't the patch supposed to stop the cravings? Is it just not working? ARGH!

Patch at night?

I've heard lots of negative things about wearing the patch at night, like nightmares and such. Just wondering how many patchers wear them during the night and if they really cause bad dreams. Cheers!

Fear of Failure

Hello everyone! I'm 34 and have been smoking for 22 years. I have quit twice before (cold turkey) in the last 10 years, but only for about 4 months each time. Today I woke up coughing and feeling generally lousy so I started searching for a good "quit smoking" site and found you guys! I read a lot the site and got off my butt and walked to the drug store and bought patches for the first time EVER! This is something that my boyfriend and I have been talking about for the last 3 months but I have decided that I cannot wait for him any longer. It's an empowering event to take control of my life and make things happen for me. I will say that my biggest problem is I am afraid of failing. Had anyone else felt like this? Kind of like, "Well, whats the point, I've tried many times before and couldn't do it and it just makes me feel guilty"? I have set my quit date for tomorrow and I'm excited! -Scara
