Cravings..

Today is day 9 and I feel really good.  I am no longer feeling the withdrawals, however there are some cravings and its pretty much a mental thing.  I cant say that I am exactly craving for a cigarette I just feel like something is missing.  And as odd as this may sound I actually was a little sad last night thinking about how smoking is not going to be apart of my life anymore.  I dont want to start smoking again, trust me.  Its just change I guess or maybe the fact that I am going away this weekend and would normally be looking forward to sitting on the lake having a cigarette and fruity drink.  I will not be smoking that is for sure.  I was just having some odd feelings, emotions, cravings and will need to prepare how to handle them.

Quitting Smoking is easy!

Wow, I was looking for some serious support today and came across this list from 2008, from Rock.  It did what it needed to do for me and I am thinking that I am blest that I decided to quit and for all of those reasons on that list and more.  Thank you for having that one here, great stuff.

Still Reaching For My Cigarettes

I agree with being halfway there.  It would always baffle me when people would see me smoke and say" I would never picture you as a smoker', whatever a smoker looks like I would think.  But it would embarrass me and actually I had been known to dodge people walking by or insight of me that may have seen me smoking.  I was so embarrassed by it, unless of course I was around others who smoked.  I have told my husband several times that I just wanted to be free of this habit and I could finally do things I had always wanted-go jogging, actually invite people over that didnt smoke or go to people's homes that didnt smoke and not wonder how I would make it without smoking all night.  So halfway there is a definite, now the other half to go.  Do you have any problems drinking coffee without smoking or having a glass of wine or drink without a smoking?  How have you worked through those issues?  Because honestly, I am a coffee girl and I enjoy my wine so I am trying to figure out tactics on getting through those situations smokefree.

Cravings..

This site really has been great for me.  I am sure everyone utilizes it differently but I am logging on when I feel the urge to smoke and it helps me get through the tough times.  Today has been a great day for me.  I took my daughter on a long bike ride( her in the carrier behind me) and was going up hill and just said out loud "I feel amazing today!"  It was a great feeling and I know it is because I am not smoking.  My husband called me later on this morning and said he was having a hard time today-he has also quit smoking and we talked through it and hopefully he is feeling better as well.  So I am saying NOPE today, feeling great that I am 9 days free of cigs and appreciative for this site and all the great people on here.

Cigar Smoking

That is actually quite interesting.  And i have many friends who smoke cigars and were always lecturing ME on smoking cigarettes.  I guess smoking is smoking whatever you are inhaling.

Is this normal?

Great job Nick.  The way I look at it is that we are going to continue to have these stressful situations and are goingt to have to get through them smoke free.  You hit that situation early in your quit which is a great sign that you are determined.  Keep it up!  Your strength encourages the rest of us!
