My first day

Hello Luci, Friend, You are not alone, believe me, Make this Quit for You, not Your Husband, Just passed the 3 year quit, My wife still smokes, I am afraid Your out in the boat by Yourself on this one, Except on this website, there is a big boat load of People right behind You Cheering, Supporting, and Encouraging You, Make this website Your home for the next few months my friend, Hopefully Your Husband will follow You by Your example, Maybe You can use His smokeing for a motivation to quit Yourself, it can work that way You know, So grit those teeth, and get that Eye of the Tiger Luci, for its in You, just bring it out and get in that driver's seat, You take care, I will be watching You, Smokeless In Oklahoma :)

To anyone lurking and thinking of quitting....

Hello Meece, I probally smoked as much as You did, but mine lasted 40 years, Myself used the Zyban, In 2 weeks time, while taking the zyban, went from 30 cigerettes aday, down to 3 aday, I would light up a cigerette, take a couple drags from it, then take a pair of sissors and cut the fire off in the kitchen sink, WHY? to make those 3 cigerettes last all day, and it worked, But to me, getting down to 3 cigs aday, was like not smokeing, You just pick that ONE DAY to quit, and You stay with it, But no way could I have made it without this website, They were my lifeline and lifesaver all neatly wrapped into one, For I must have been in love with this site, O'Yeow, For everyday I would say to myself, Well how did I do that yesterday, that was easy, how about a rerun today, and I was off and running, Yes, I feel that fear of quitting, is just a state of mind, nothing more, Just stay close to this website Friend, And All of Us will pull You along like a Freight Train, So get on, and hang on, Soon have 3 years and 3 months smoke free, and I love my lifestyle now, Smokless In Oklahoma :)

New to the site BUT not new to the failure of tring to quit

Hello Cindy, My heart goes out to You, For most of Us on here have traveled the same road Your on, O'Yeow, But Yes, this is the right place, for I'm living proof, I never gave myself a chance of kicking this addiction, 40 years smoking, pack an a half aday, Who is kidding Who, just plain had no faith or belief in myself, My Sister told me to come to this website, because it worked for Her after smoking 40 years, I have been quit now for 3 years, and hug my Sister every chance I get, But my Motivation to quit came from this website, WHY? Cindy, I've had People on this site from around this world of Ours, supporting, encourageing me, cheering me on, I could have easily started smoking again after I started my quit, But the People on here just gave me so much pride in myself not to let them All down, for I quit for Them and my family, Cindy, just spend as much time on this website that allows You, for it pays back such great rewards for You, and the One's following You, Don't look ahead no farther then the next 2 or 3 months, for that is the most criticial time of Your quit, and by all means, get in the slow lane, take one day at a time, Good luck in Your journey Cindy, Just do it, Smokless In Oklahoma :)

Only in my dreams

Hello Friend, You might think this, my opinion might sound a little off the wall, or just plain crazzy, But after smokeing some 40 years, I do believe myself that my mind was clogged with nicotine and smoke from all the years from inhaleing cigerettes, for I dream a lot more today, then I use too,it started like 2 or 3 months after I quit smokeing on this website, I think Friend, that Your body and mind is just healing from the addiction of these cigerettes, and it is giving Your mind space to dream now, I can't believe of dreams ever killing Anyone, unless You sleep walk out in the road, and get hit by a semi-truck, Congrats on thos 17 days, and Yes, thos Withdrawal symtoms hang on for some time, mine seemed like lasted for 2 months at least, but then everyone is different, So hang in there Friend, It will get better, BELIEVE ME, BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT, JUST HAVE PATIENCE WITH YOURSELF, Take care, Smokeless in Oklahoma :)

confusing

Hello Friend, Yes, Your body I feel is still healing from all the cigerettes Yoiu inhaled, Be patient with Yourself, I know its easier said then done, But I have been down Your road with 3 years under my belt, and I have fallen in love with my new lifestyle of living, Am still wondering today why I am still alive and breathing after smokeing for 40 years, Supose I had one advantage from a lot of People on this website, myself, retired from the work force before I quit smokeing, and for months after quitting, would wake up 3 or 4 a,m in the morning, and write topics and replys to this website, and would get so sleepy and droussy come 3;00 p,m, would almost go into a coma i was so tired, but then I wasn't punching a clock, Just hang tough my Friend, Guarantee You, It will get better in the weeks ahead, I always made the statement that I would give up sleep anytime, to just kick this addiction of smokeing, So You might have to sacrafice just a tad, to give up this addiction, but its so worth it, Take care, Smokeless In Oklahoma :)

Starting to quit

Hello Martin, Yeow' You came to the right place my Friend, For I never though in my wildest dream, that I would EVER give up cigerettes, So Us People on here are getting up in age, Anyone Who is trying to kick the addiction after smokeing 40 plus years, is really not considered a spring chicken, O'Yeow, Am now working on my 4th year without a cigerette, don't even think of smoking anymore, Most of Us on here could probally get a job in a smoke-shop, and never smoke again, I believe it kind of gets etched in Your mind, that cigerettes are Taboo, I know Martin, it took many many full moons for a lot of Us to learn that, I would like to tip my hat to a Fellar on here named Sunshine, 50years of smokeing, and is now 4 months quit, This here Quitting this addiction is all in Your mind, You have heard that Old Saying, You've got to get Your mind right, Kind of reminds me of ''COOL HAND LUKE,'' Movie, with Paul Neuman, It brought Him down to both knees, but I do believe He got His mind right, LOL, Well Martin, Pick a day to quit, BUT, come down off them cigerettes gradually, and not all at one time, or You will be climbing a wall, Maybe Your Doctor can help You with some medication to keep You calm and relaxed for a couple months, and ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, I have been told, So just come on this website as often as You need, I heard its a little like a Truck-Stop, Open 24 hours aday, So park it here Friend, and hope You enjoy Your journey, Smokeless In Oklahoma :)
