September: Alcohol and Addiction Recovery Month

Recovery means not depending on drinking to be happy. It means being happy just for being me, not needing something to make me happy.

I just read this now, very interesting about September.

Recovery has meant to be happy, healthy and proactive! I have worked so hard to regain the trust of others and show them that this time I mean business and I refuse to fall into my old ways. Recovery to me means a life change, a lifestyle change and a brighter future.

What does recovery mean to you?

Members,

September is Alcohol and Addiction Recovery Month. This awareness month was started 20 years ago to draw society’s attention to the dangers of addiction. Members, what does recovery mean to you? Why is it important to you?  How can you promote recovery in your community?
