PB!!!! I was wondering about you too! Okay, do you really think that your new boss is worth you blowing your quit over??? I wouldn't give him the satisfaction. If you smoked right now you would feel even worset than you do right now. BECAUSE..on top of everything else that you are dealing with you would have the regrets of smoking after being 160 days smoke free. If you do smoke is your son going to get better grades in school or will he be more likely to start smoking someday too??? Christmas will come and go with or without smoking. Don't get mad at me - I am just giving it to you strait forward like I would expect from you. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/8/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 305 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,575 Amount Saved: $1,281.00 Life Gained: Days: 28 Hrs: 6 Mins: 49 Seconds: 47

Hi PB, There will always be odd moments in our lives when we think about smoking again in response to an intense stress point. But your question as to when the continual nagging craves will be gone....Yes, they go. I have heard many people say that it often takes a whole year to get the different seasons and trigger points out of our system. The only way to silence these is "No Negotiation". If you start thinking about smoking, then the craves will get much worse. If you say "No Way", the craves will diminish. You are doing great PB! Ride the bad bit and kick that junky's a**! Thanks Danielle, Unhooked, and Lainey, its nice to hear from you and see you all doing well. Thank you for your words of encouragement. As for you rnd34, your experience is exactly what I'm afraid of doing, my gosh, 9 months down the tubes, it amazing how this addiction works. Thank you for sharing your experience, it has given me a new perspective on things. As for you, keep posting, and stay focused, you have done it once, you can do it again, only this time when things get stressful for you, you'll know better than to give in to that junkie. Good luck rnd34, be strong..22 days already under your belt..thats great!! PB, I feel for you and I understand completely where you are. I had been completely quit for 9 monthes, and felt my life whizzing out of control. My job was crazy, I was in the middle of moving, and I didnt want to leave the house I loved so much, one of my dogs was sick with cancer...the feelings of panic I had were overwhelming, and on top of that, I wanted to smoke. I had the logic "I can not control anything else, but dang it, I can smoke one and be done with it". I was soooo wrong. I ended up smoking more than I did before, I was ashamed at the fact that I had beat the nicodemon, but then gave in to the temptation again. Smoking did not fix anything else that was wrong, and just gave me one more thing to stress on. Keep your quit and know that all things in your life WILL end up as they are suppossed to and your not smoking is the most important thing to you! If you dont smoke, you will live longer to watch everything even out. At 160 days now, you are an inspiration. Keep strong, friend. PB, I was just thinking about you last night, wondering how you were doing! Hang on to your quit PB! You seem to have forgotten that you were more stressed when you smoked! You know that smoking isn't going to make anything any better at all! You need to rethink things. I have been doing the same thing lately, telling myself my job sucked, when it dawned on me, no wonder it sucks when I keep telling myself that! But I won't smoke, ever again, and you won't either! Turn it around. There is no excuse to start again - you know that! Take some deep breaths! It does get better, you know that too! You can do this! You have done this! Look that crave in the eye and tell it "You cannot defeat me! I am bigger than you!" Do it for yourself PB, no one else! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 249 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,225 Amount Saved: $2,626.95 Life Gained: Days: 30 Hrs: 10 Mins: 21 Seconds: 50

Hang in, PB. Non-smokers get stress at work, they get idiot bosses & their kids screw up. They don't smoke. You're a non-smoker. Breathe, water, distractions, whatever worked in the beginning will work now. This will pass and it will be another trigger down, another victory to be proud of. Also, get a reward for those awesome 160 days. Do something or buy something that's just for you, it helps. You can do it, PB, just keep doing what you've been doing. PB, Certainly not. New triggers and new experiences bring on cravings especially where stress is involved. This part of the quit takes a little longer to get a handle on. We recommend you temporarily get back to basics. Take time out for yourself, start up with your rewards and keep trying to find new ways to cope with your stress/anxiety or utilize the strategies that have worked for you in the past. Keep persevering! Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Hi everybody, I know its been a while since I've been around. I hope everyone is doing well. I need to vent, my job is getting crazy, we have a new Administrator, with new idea's and ways of doing things. I am at the top of his S#$% List because I have a bad habit of speaking my mind, no matter what kind of authority or power someone thinks they have over me. The man is an idiot, he has no clue what he is doing, and he is coming into my shop and telling me how to run it. The holiday's are around the corner, I know my oldest son won't be home for xmas, and I know it will be tough on everyone. My youngest son is screwing off in school, I am feeling the crave constantly now, I am hearing the excuses in my head, I am feeling weak, but for some reason I keep driving past the gas station. I was hoping at 160 days, it would be over. I have gained a lot of weight, but I'm keeping my quit, I'm holding on to it, but man these craves are tough. Will it ever be over?? Is the rest of my life going to be a battle ground over whether or not I ingest nicotine into my body? I just want it to end. I am sick of it. Heck, its been so long, I don't think I could afford it anyway, I've adjusted my spending habits to the point that there is no room for cigarettes...thats kind of funny, and scary at the same time. Well, thanks for listening to me ramble, sometimes its just good to get it off your chest. All you folks are the foundation for my success, I hope your all doing great. Bye for now.
