Hi Joe! Congrats on deciding to quit. It certainly isn't the easiest thing to do but sounds like you have the right attitude to make it work. We are glad to have you as part of the group and look forward to hearing about your progress.

Hi Joe,
Welcome to the Stop Smoking Center! "Didn't think I could get addicted from one pack, I was wrong." Boy, isn't that the truth. It's a terribly addicting drug isn't it? It's good to hear that you are also giving up the vapes. They can't be good for you either. Quitting with the patch is doable, it  is how I was able to kick the addiction too. Pappy on here is also quitting with the help of the patch. "I'm hoping I can quit for good." We hope you can do it too.  If you have the time, go through the "my program" program at the top of the page, and then read as much as you can through these forums. All the information to help you quit is in here somewhere. If you get an urge that the patch does not seem to be handling, get on here and write a message in one of the forums. Hopefully by the time you are done writing the message the urge will have subsided. Do whatever you can to fight hose urges and be stronger than the urge. Drink plenty of water the first few days of your quit to help flush the poisons out of your system. Keep us updated with your progress too. It helps to re-enforce your quit. I wish you the best on your quit journey Joe.
Stay strong.

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hey, name's Joe! I've been smoking since I jokingly bought a pack of marbs on my 18th birthday. Didn't think I could get addicted from one pack, I was wrong.

I smoked what I hope is my last cigarette this morning.

I started as a pack a day smoker, and was up to 3-4 packs a day of chainsmoking at my worst. Now I have about 4 cigarettes a day, but I also use high nicotine vaporizers, I'm giving up both.
I got some fake help you quit cigarettes in the mail today, I'm putting the patch on tomorrow.

I've tried to quit before, but with the extra help of this place I'm making a 3 pronged attack on my addiction, I'm hoping I can quit for good. Look forward to getting to know you all!
