2nd day smoke free!

Welcome!

Congrats on getting started. Slips are very common when quitting smoking or when trying to stay smoke free. I am so glad you bounced back so quickly. The key is to learn from your slips. What do you think you learned from the March 17 relapse and slip from a few days ago? What do you think was your trigger? How can you prepare to prevent future slips?

Hi Galatea,
Welcome to the stop smoking center, and congratulations on day 3 of your quit journey. Wow, you quit for 8 years and then started again.  As Jerry Seinfeld would say...what a shame.  Sorry, couldn't resist that.  Did you use NRT on your last quit too?  Hope you're doing okay now with your struggles. Be sure and drink plenty of fluids to help wash out the poisons from your body. Hell week's almost halfway over for you now. Hang in there and stay strong!

Hi. Just wanted to tell you that I smoked for 20 years starting as a young teenager. I quit for 8 years and then in March 2017 started again. I put on a patch 5 days ago but still "cheated" the first 3 days of using the patch. So today is day 5 of patch but only day 2 of smoke free. It's a struggle but I'm glad to be quitting for good "I hope" this time. Read a bunch in the forums yesterday before deciding to join this site. Looks great hoping to learn and grow with you all.
