Hi, I just joined, have been reading through the milestones, and wanted to introduce myself. I know I'm not quite ready today, so I set a quit date in the next 2 weeks.
January 23rd doesn't have any special significance to me, but I timed it based on giving myself a window to prepare. If I go out with friends, it is usually on the weekend, so I wanted to stay away from the weekend. I also don't believe in starting anything on a Monday.
Fortunately, for myself, I work at home, and since driving is one of my bigger triggers, I can prepare myself for any situations that may require driving. Any trip I would need to take during work would be minimal - 10 minutes or less - so I feel it would be a good start to quit during the week.
This week, in order to prepare, I am going to try to not smoke in my car, and not smoke until the afternoon for a few days. If I am successful with that, I will determine another step to prepare for quitting.
Anyway, that's my game plan as of right now, and I will be further refining my plan of action over the next 10 days.
Thanks for reading!
