14 years ago 0 3875 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi Steelroots, welcome to the SSC! Read all you can here, there is a ton of information in these threads, and it is all very very helpful in your quit! Smoking is an addiction and you need to learn that, so you use it to help yourself get quit!
This is a great place to be when quitting, after all, who knows better how to help you than those who have been there!
Plan ahead, set a date and set yourself free!

Hey Steelroots!!!

Welcome to the SSC!!!  Yes, go through the milestones in the program and come up with a plan that you think will work for you!  Check in here often and read and learn from the quitters before you!  Knowledge is power and it really helps obtain as much of that power as you an when dealing with this addiction!

I, too, tried several NRT's and luckily Chantix was the one that did it for me!  The thing that was different about this quit is that I found this site, used this site as a learning tool AND distraction, and kept a Positive Mental Attitude!  I just kept telling myself that I  WAS going to succeed this time, and I did!  You can do it too!

Welcome, steelroots! Being motivated is needed to get through the battles. You certainly are that. Also, take away the option to smoke. Under no circumstances may you. Beathe deeply. Pray if you must. I do. Prayer is what was different for me this time. Get those veggies, sugar-free candy and gum, and ice, cold water ready. The water will increase your metabolism ad help flush out toxins. Post, read, post, read. Stay close to this board. Depend on us. W can't promise you that quitting will be hard, but we can promise you that it will get easier; your cravings will become less intense and farther and farther apart. You have to stay in it long enough to see the miracle. So be patient. Realize quitting is a process and that you have as long as it takes to get through whatever is thrown your way. So that we can celebrate with you, set up your stats. Go to 'My Profile' and makes your choices, and then go to 'Support Group Options' and tell us a little about you. Again. welcome!
