There are some great ideas here in terms of hobbies and activities that can be used to replace smoking!

Members, any other wonderful suggestions?

I give them away to co workers, neighbors, etc...
Hey---if you have that many you can use them to throw at your assistant!

MissMarple - I hear ya on that chicken/guinea thing.  Chickens are getting on my nerves too!!!  I have chickens laying eggs on my back porch, under my porch, out in the yard, every freakin where!!  Really need to build a chicken house, but just not in the mood for that.....  All I know is they are taking over!!

Signed,

The pic did it for me!  Off to the store to buy some bath oil.  On second thought, I'll make it bubble bath.  Don't want anything to interfere with my patch sticking.  What a wonderful idea....and I can read my book while I'm in there!

Hello Miss Marple

What about taking a long hot bath with lavender or relaxing oil and put a mask while listening to music. More fun than doing house work.

Enjoy the bubble bath

Hmm..... We live in a large log home in a very rural area of Tennessee.  A mini farm of sorts.  I could close the pool, which should have been closed a month ago....   I could clean the barn, the stalls have needed to be mucked for some time now...   I could clean the chicken/guinea coop, they are absolutely gross...   I could do whole slew of things.  I don't want to.
We are definately closing the pool this weekend, but other than that, I'm not doing anything that's not in imminent danger.
AND YOU CAN'T MAKE ME!
I am reading a very good novel and intend to finish it before Monday morning.  I think that's okay...don't you?  I may later take up scrap booking.

Miss Marple,

Reading and exercise sound like great ideas! Have you thought of any other hobbies you might want to try to replace smoking?

Good for you!  I also notice my cravings increase in the evening hours when I was used to relaxing with a cigarette in hand.  I'm still searching for ways to stay busy.  I have been reading some.  Last night I went to bed at 7:30 and slept until 5 this morning.  I think I needed the rest.  I feel so refreshed this morning.  I live so far from town that by the time I get home from work, dinner, etc.   I have no desire to drive back into town for any activity.  Need to think of things to do around the house...there's plenty I need to do, but I need to find something I want to do.  Ideas?  Glad you're hanging with us GP!
