Congratulations on your quit and welcome.
Wow you are already through Hell week.
and great that you found some things to replace the smoking.
I also found that physical activity was a great distraction, and the more smokefree days I had the easier the physical activity became.
I wish you continued success with your quit.

Welcome and congratulations on deciding to kick the habit Marco!

Quitting smoking is not only a habit, it's an addiction. This program is going to help you plan how to deal with cravings and more importantly teach you how to replace this old habit with a new one. You should also put into place a reward system. It should have three components: small one for after each craving, medium for the end of each smoke-free day and a bigger one for the end of each smoke-free week. Start reading through the forums, you'll quickly realize that many have felt just as you do now and they are now non-smokers. You'll also be able to find a lot of tips and tricks to help you along the way.
Congratulations on remaining smoke free for 10 days! What a great start!
Keep up the great work, and check back in to let us know how you are doing.

Congratulations Marco!  10 smoke free days is fantastic.  You're completely out of hell week now.  Being smoke free is different from what we are used to, but every day makes us a little stronger.  You've got some great coping tools working for you...and don't forget to post and read regularly, it really helps with the quit.

Cheers,

Jan

Hi Marco and welcome! Congrats on the 10 days smoke free thats amazing! And yes I know how that is getting used to the being a 'non smoker'- its a whole different world isnt it?
I also know what you mean when you say the thought of just one smoke would wipe out all that hard work you've done in the 10 days! I just couldnt face doing that first Hell week again as during that week I felt like I was on another planet so remember its N.O.P.E. (not one puff ever!!)

Hello everybody,

My name is Marco. I quit smoking on June 12. This is the third time that I am trying to quit. I can feel this time that it will be for good.

However, some days are worse than others. Sometimes, i just want to have a cigarrette but then I say to myself i cant do it because I will lose all my work. The hardest part is not the cravings. I think is getting used to the idea that you are not anymore a smoker.

I have been trying to replace smoking by these things and i find it works:

1. Cycling
2. Listening Music
3. Eating Gum
4. Drinking lots of cold water
5. Talking to people
