Welcome. I to used Chantix and it has help more than I can tell you. But and this is a big but, you have to want to quit more than you want to smoke. It helped me get though the rough times, but the magic happens within. Brubaker, Thanks for satisfying my curiosity as it isn't uncommon for there to be patterns behind relapses & slips. Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

Danielle, Well I have to say I enjoy(ed) the buzz of smoking. Quitting is always hard and I suppose over the last two years have been off about 6 months and then a series of events led me back to the cigs. It was the thought of dying prob 12 years younger than I needed to et al has got me back off... I went cap in hand back to my GP got Champix and am just about to finish week 1 :) brubaker My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/11/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 72 Amount Saved: 19.80 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 22 Mins: 15 Seconds: 32

Brubaker, Welcome back! We encourage you to go through and re-work the tools of the program. If you haven't been here since our most recent update, you may find a few new exercises :) It's also time to catch up on threads. Both past/present can offer some great insight and advice that can be used in your quit. If I may ask, what has led you to be on & off for the past two years? Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

Hey guys - been quitting cigs on and off for the last two years. Now off again and taking Champix (Chantrix). Whilst I've succeeded and failed over the last while (giving up smoking) I don't believe that you ever fail till you completely give up trying - and that I haven't. Good luck to everyone out there and I'll be posting mainly in the coping with withdrawals and craving sections.
