I'm on my way...

Thanks to everyone for the encouraging words. As for my March 30th quit date, well...I'm a planner. I would be setting myself up for failure without a good, solid plan. I've already started to cut down and I am hoping that the transition to none will be less painful that way. Keep in touch everyone!

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hi everyone...I started smoking when I was 18 years old after swearing for many years that I would never smoke. Growing up both my parents were smokers and I hated the way our house, cars and clothes smelled. I'm now 34 and can't even remember why I started in the first place. I've never liked smoking and still hate the smell, but I still do it for some reason. I've tried to quit 3 times before. The first time I managed to quit for 5 years. The second time for about 4 months and the third time for about 1 month. BUT I am on my way...over the last 7 months I have changed my lifestyle drastically. I joined Weight Watchers and lost 50 lbs so far,I excercise 4-6 times per week and now quitting smoking is my next goal. My quit date is set for March 30th....wish me luck!

Hey Diamond! You have found the best support group on the 'net. After all you have already accomplished, you can do this. Are you using NRT? When you get a crave (and, unfortunately, you will) just logon, read a bit, and post so we can see how you are doing. Best to you! hey Phil...it's a woman thing! LOL Diamond Girl...FYI It took me 2 months to get my plan together, so you take this time you've allowed yourself and make that QUIT PERMANANT!!! I DID and proud to say I AM A NON SMOKER ;) auntdeb note: I suppose everyone is different, but I really believe without preparation...failure is quite possible.
